looking into expanding the search, heard about the ford sharing this block, what model isit? thinking maybe aftermarket parts could be cheaper just because its for a "ford?"

Ford using the t4 lump? There's nothing in the uk market that does, in fact I don't think they ever used it in one of their own cars, they pinched the T5 lump for the ST and tweaked the same lump and fitted it to the mark 2 Focus RS... There were also some Mondeos and S-Max's that got the T5 lump...

Andy's correct, no Ford used the T4 lump, the S/V40 was a collaboration with Mitsubishi.

S/v40 was based on the chasiss of a mitsubushi carisma, and uses some of the bit n pieces

What they said ^^ but the T4 engine never found its way into a Carisma either, that engine is purely T4 only ;)

The 'T4' engines in those Charisma based cars were effectively 4 slices of the concurrent 5 pots. The pistons and rods were shared and the M56 gerarbox was the same. You should be able to get some used parts on ebay, otherwise try Volvo dealers or a good non Volvo specialist such as Braydon Motor Company in London E5, excellent source of genuine Volvo and pattern parts plus they have a breaking section. There are none too many who have done much with these T4s over the years. You might do well to sign up at www.t5d5.org where several of those owners do still congregate, PYAAP with a 420 bhp V40 T4, Garrett and all..... You can fit a larger Mitsubishi TDO4 turbo off a T5 or R and can in fact fit a cut-down later manifold from the larger cars that will help a bit. I don't keep them in stock but I can also order Ferrita's Swedish made exhausts, which you will need for more than just 'stage 1' Software changes are however tricky as the old Siemens ECU is difficult and time consuming to flash with revised software. However, I can get that done with MTE's calibrations. regards, Don.

I'm not after mad power, just a bit more so the exhaust won be needed I'm gunna have a 2.75 cat back made with a sport at put in.. As for the remap how much will this cost as that is something I obviously want doing when all mods are on car.
