Should I break my T-5R

The turbo has blown on my car, should I break the car for spares, or should I spend money that I could use on the other car to fix it?

Post 715766 by stribo on 2014-05-31 10:31:55

Break it, it's the only way to go nowadays, our cars are getting broken when they need new tyres. ;)

I think the question is do you like walking around for a couple of months until it's on the road. Am sure man of your talents can change turbo cheaply.:duck:

Don't you have a pile of tirbos somewhere? or maybe just fit that massive supercharger you bought last year?

Post 715771 by Nealevo on 2014-05-31 10:43:18

Yeah break it, one less green thing on the road has got to be better for everyone :)
So it's 4 or 3 cars hard choice ?.
Yea I'm sick of Volvo's, I'm going to scrap the s60 and I'm going to put a couple of ford engines in the twin engined project.

Post 715848 by Santa on 2014-05-31 16:09:59

Break it, at this rate the market will flood with cheap used parts and the price of used complete cars will go up due to lack of supply :P

Post 715852 by t5 pete on 2014-05-31 16:16:04

Yep at this rate them pink 850R's and mucky green ones will nearly be as sought after as the grey poupon

Post 715929 by claymore on 2014-05-31 19:35:43

Just to make it completely clear, this thread was a piss take, there is no way I would break an 850 just because it had a knackered Turbo.

Post 715930 by Dangerous Dave on 2014-05-31 19:38:28
Just to make it completely clear, this thread was a piss take, there is no way I would break an 850 just because it had a knackered Turbo.
It's not knackered, it has a modified lubrication system :D

Post 715931 by stephenevans99 on 2014-05-31 19:39:47

You saying I can't have the indicator bulb ??? wasting my time you are son :finger: lol
Just to make it completely clear, this thread was a piss take, there is no way I would break an 850 just because it had a knackered Turbo.
So you've changed your mind, you're messing people around now. :P

Post 715936 by claymore on 2014-05-31 19:58:17
You saying I can't have the indicator bulb ??? wasting my time you are son :finger: lol
Don't worry mate I've got your bulb, but I'm having a problem with the power steering fluid, it keeps making the envelope go all soggy, I'll see if it's any better in a jiffy bag.

Im sure there is more fun pushing volvo wheel than driving a ££££roen not to mention fixing and driving one.
Just to make it completely clear, this thread was a piss take, there is no way I would break an 850 just because it had a knackered Turbo.
pretty obvious really lol

Post 715957 by MoleT-5R on 2014-05-31 20:57:55

not that Colin will do anything like that to his T-5R, he loves it too much and should what ever happens there will always be a garage here for it, but love the thread it seems to be the fashion of late to have a breaking thread...lol

Post 716045 by craigoodwood on 2014-06-01 00:45:00

incidentally though i have a clean 15g here you can have i never used it and the endfloat seems fine on it ;)
Break it, at this rate the market will flood with cheap used parts and the price of used complete cars will go up due to lack of supply :P
The second hand parts prices will end up so low with the amount of parts out there that people won't find it worth breaking them if this keeps up haha .

Post 716051 by volvokid on 2014-06-01 04:50:41
Getting some more R bits at the weekend.... god bless these broken R's
You don't fit second hand parts as a necessity but for a luxury, when you going to buy a R bumper and lights ;)

Post 716052 by volvokid on 2014-06-01 04:53:47

Can I get the solder from your abs unit Colin? Mine is a bit dry.
