hi all i need info on t5steve , his address or area he lives , home No or what ever you have . if you could send me what ever you know via pm so not to breach forum rules the reason i need this is because he s had me over i while ago i was looking for someone to respray a vespa for me , t5steve was recommended by other forum member so whent to see him , it was expressed that it had to be a top job no messing this was told to him via phone and when parts were delivered , he said it would be 3 weeks , after that it was well you want good job takes bit longer , 6 weeks later whent up to collect parts , the job was very poor half the parts were rejected and left with promise of them being completed to required standard , he said he needed the cash to get materials n as thought well he s a forum member n supposedly had a good rep payed him in full as wanted it done then came the probs , no i had for him didnt work sat nav with his address crashed n data lost eventually find him on facebook and message him to be blocked , find his wife only to be blocked so he has my parts and my cash !!!!! HELP !!!!!!!

I know neither of these guys. I have contacted Steve once about doing some paint work for me after a recommendation by another forum member, and he seemed very nice and helpful, but it never progressed any further. When you 'know' the person(s) involved, you can't help but have a biased opinion on a subject like this, you are most likely going to stick up for who you allegiances are with, even if they are in the wrong. We've all done just that, it's human nature. As a completely unbiased view, as I know neither guys, is that information/threads like this are important to let anyone who is considering using the services of person or company know what they are dealing with - good or bad. Personal circumstances (like ill health, for example, as mentioned above) can always interfere with work, and cause problems, that's life unfortunately. Even if you have let your customers down badly, it's how deal with it afterwards that shows whether you are one of the good guys or not. I would personally like to hear Steve's side of the story, but from reading the above, the fact is that a message to Sonic to explain would have alleviated the situation and would have stopped the need for this thread, and the possible downfall of Steve's reputation. He has read messages sent to him, and even spoken with other forum members, so why not Sonic? It comes across as dodgy IMHO.

Most of our dealings with companies are outside of the forum(s), and I think feedback on traders/services/individuals/etc that we are all possibly going to use at some stage is one important part of what forums like this are good for. Threads like this can be painful, well its painful for me anyway. I know Steve and he's a nice guy. That said I'm on no ones side....ok not an overly accurate statement, I'm on the side of keeping the forum a functional and balanced place. In this case, the thread isn't hugely balanced. I would like Steve to comment but I also understand why he wouldn't. Obviously the case for the OP is not solved and he is out of pocket in terms of parts and of money. Hopefully a solution which benefits both parties can be found. What I think is clear in this instance though is the deal wasn't done through this forum (though the three involved are all members here of differing activity) and contacting Steve via this forum hasn't worked. Sonic, I'm not sure how you managed to get the parts and money to Steve previously but maybe this would be a better channel of reaching Steve? Hopefully its just a case of waiting a few days for Steve to make an appearance.

regardless of who introduced me to t5steve the facts are steve did bad job on my parts the worst of were rejected and steve said he would rectify the parts ,i payed him in full , he then didnt call me to tell me they were ready and wont now answer or reply !!!!!

Ok this thread has completely gone off on one and the value of it seems to have slipped to below nothing. Sonic, you have my sympathies and I hope resolution comes, what is clear though is that this thread just isnt aiding in resolution.(I wish it had). Closed
