Sorry been a busy old time - & sadly my attempt to beat Dean has had to go on the back burner. I am very pleased to annouce the eviction of 3 miracles - Zoe, Megan & Lydia Natural identical MCTA triplet girls - born 2 minutes apart weighing 3lbs 8, 2lbs & 3lbs 8 respectively. Mother & babies doing well.
there will always be next year
He might be that bit quicker next year, but family comes first and you'll have your hands full by the looks of it mate, I could offer my services and take you car to avon and stick a couple of times on it for you, whilst you do the family thing....lol

Post 722133 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-02 23:56:45

Joking aside - I'd be interested to see what it could do - even if I wasn't in it.

Post 722134 by M-R-P on 2014-07-03 00:05:52

I repeat... Wtf? I like to keep ontop of things but this is news to me, tbh, at first I thought it was a wind up! Congratulations wobbles, going by their weights, I'm presuming (only presuming mind) they were a tad early? Either way, I'm pleased for you mate, and more pleased everybody is doing fine. All those females in the house... You're in for a rough time in about 13 years lol

Post 722135 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-03 00:21:37

The average for triplets is 33 weeks. Ellen managed 31 weeks 3 days. Triplets never make term (40 weeks) because there simply isn't room. All told that's 9 1/2 lbs she's carrying in just babies then you've got a 2lb placenta + fluids. We were also partially driven on neonatal ICU capacity & getting all the teams in place to do the section. Ellen's health was already beginning to suffer. She's a superstar & no mistake. But yes they are premature, but they are all breathing on their own with support from nasal CPAP (tubes up their noses) and will remain in care until they make term - or maybe a little shorter (depends on progress), so maybe another 8 weeks? And yes - I am totally screwed

Post 722136 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-03 00:23:23

Post 722140 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-03 00:36:23

Bit out of my budget I am afraid. I think it will be more likel a T5 - but not a Swedish one.

Crikey! An instant complete family! Going to be three teenage girls under one roof in 12/13 years time... :scared: I wish you and your new family all the very best!

Post 722170 by partsforvolvos.com on 2014-07-03 12:54:09

that's brilliant news Dave, congrats. glad I didn't have my 4 at the same time. our youngest was on CPAP for 2 weeks after being born last december and it was totally out of the blue. the staff on those neonatal wards are so brilliant compared to normal kids and adult wards you cant even put it into words. hope it goes smoothly for you.
Very true Dave. June and July is a busy birthday time for you then bud. How is Erica liking the new additions? You're gonna need a Vauxhall Zafira or similar kid-mobile :P
Indeed that is very true - but at least the dates are easy to remember 02/07/14 (two sevens are fourteen) - and Erica is 9/6/12. We looked at MPVs in March & they're a bit small. The 2/3/2 arrangement is not ideal - when you factor in storage. The pram thing we have bought is massive. Erica's been learning her sisters' names. Here are the pictures. Zoe Megan Lydia and big sis, Erica

Post 722355 by 850 T5s on 2014-07-04 14:42:03

what about an Honda FRV 3 in the front and 3 in the back

Post 722362 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-04 15:04:22

I have looked at them - again boot space is limited, plus the missus said no.

Post 722364 by siamblue on 2014-07-04 15:17:45

Well done the both of you,4 girls bloody hell Wobbly that is going to be one madhouse in 13 years time,i don't envy you one bit. 4 boys here is bad enough..

Post 722366 by T5frankie on 2014-07-04 15:20:37

whats the issue with an xc90? plenty big enough just fold one seat up/down/out

Post 722367 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-04 15:23:54

You've not seen the size of the pram plus getting Erica in & out is too much of a challenge. Gary - I don't think I will have to wait that long.
You've not seen the size of the pram plus getting Erica in & out is too much of a challenge. Gary - I don't think I will have to wait that long.
you are aware there are no bigger cars? you will need a mercedes vito 8 seater Image

Post 722374 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-04 15:52:55

Mercedes are very nice to look at but there are not as big as the VW transporters & they cost a lot more. My budget is not massive, as I just forked out a fortune on house alterations.
Mercedes are very nice to look at but there are not as big as the VW transporters & they cost a lot more. My budget is not massive, as I just forked out a fortune on house alterations.
can get a 170bhp diesel one mapped over 200bhp for a bit of daddy fun lol
Yes but the Daddy-fun-mobile aka SSB hairdressers car is staying. that has over 400 fun. Cheap & economical, with bags of space is where I am going
so what are the options? vw trainspotter? Image

Post 722386 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-07-04 16:08:42

Exactly something like that. It'll be nice to eventually get some bling on it. Needs a minimum 6 seats. I know that the transporter has a wide variety of different seating options. Rear parking sensors would also be nice. Engine size 2litre maybe 2.5 - but economy is most important - and under 10K.

Post 722401 by Doingitsideways on 2014-07-04 17:32:55

Tbh, I'm with Frankie. A Vito is an excellent choice. A mate has a Duel-Liner. 6 seats and a van at the back. Reasonably economical, depreciate like a lead balloon so cheap (compared to new anyway) to buy second hand, reasonably quick too. But above all, they're RWD! :D As far as I'm concerned, if you're pulling weight (ie driving a van or minibus) FWD is bloody awful! Oh, massive congratulations BTW... Nowt wrong with your swimmers obviously! :D
