Frankie that's cracking music mate!!! I'm a bit partial to the Happy Mondays jim, hope it wasn't a sober night?! Saw stone roses at heaton park & seen Ian brown many many times. I think his voice has got better the last few years as he was terrible. I met bez in Manchester when I lived there but I can't say it was a good experience. If ever there was an advert not to take drugs....

Like a bit of Mondays, not sure about the Stone Roses or Ian Brown Drugs must make you dance funny!
I was obviously a bit young for the madchester scene & was into my dance/house/rave in the early 90's. Late 90's I got into the slower stuff but by then most of the bands had split up/gone to rehab. :( Stone roses are quality, but not all of they're material. Can't wait for the new album.

Loads of bare chested skin head blokes all sweaty. Ucccch. My raving shoes are well & truly hung up along with my days of private prescriptions.

Blue Monkey/Colosseum (Stockton) & After Dark (Newcastle) for me :)
the one i went to most was frisky on a friday night in legends northampton, two floors used to go every other weekend
Bowlers in Trafford Park was where I could usually be found. When I first started going they didn't even serve beer, there was never a hint of trouble, even the dress code was "Just a smile!" Coaches used to come from all over the country, full of people who were very "happy" before they even got there! Good times, probably had some of the best night of my life in that place. Saw a few live acts there too. JX were probably my favourites. Awesome :D Sadly, it all went downhill when the management decided to start serving beer, that's when all the trouble started :( I do still love my old skool house, but my tastes have broadened these days and listen to pretty much anything. I never did get the Stone Roses back then, even though I was usually "happy," but I can appreciate it for what it is now. Now, where to get some Disco Biscuits these days?... ;)
...Now, where to get some Disco Biscuits these days?... ;)
I wouldn't buy any of that stuff now....people will sell anything now, & not care what it does to the buyer
I wouldn't buy any of that stuff now....people will sell anything now, & not care what it does to the buyer
*Cough* I never did! *Cough* ;)
*Cough* I never did! *Cough* ;)
The sanctuary in Milton Keynes was great For a rave but that closed down too
nah couldnt stand it mate, i was and still am into house/dance stuff like alot of stuff but cant be doing with rock/grunge/brit pop etc
I can't believe I'm agreeing with you again lol, but I'm exactly the same, all the indie music at the time I found pretty dreary, much preferred trance in the '90s, still love it now, it's great to drive to. :D
much preferred trance in the '90s, still love it now, it's great to lose your license to. :D
Changed that bit for you. I always end up driving like a spanner with the trance pumping out! ;)
Changed that bit for you. I still play all that dance music lol, dj at some great nights that I don't really remember :)

Oh mate I wish I knew the name of what I was listening to. We just had mix tapes & the worst record shop you've ever seen! Basically anything from the 90's will give me memories of past. It'll be nice to hear a mix with all the cracks & hisses of vinyl. Hope the tape player works in my next ride. :)
