I recently bought a V70R Fwd Man Nautic from a fellow forum member and have spent the past couple of weeks getting it to the way I want it to be. I'm putting the engine back to standard apart from the Rica Remap and the Strut Brace. I need to do some work to the interior to get it looking like new! Any tips would be welcomed or if anyone has had their seats reupholstered it would be good to hear how much and where from! I had an S70 2.5T which had only done 60K which I sold to my best mate I've also got a few bits for sale which I'll put in the relevant section! If anyone has a gear knob, load cover or R steering wheel in Beige for sale please let me know! Look forward to showing you my progress :) Rohit

The engine is pretty much back to standard as the top photo shows. I've taken the alloys to be refurbed in bright silver - Need 4 new tyres tho! Had the engine service by WF Pye - Top Job by them. Need to slow down a bit though. So next week will be doing more intense cleaning ha ha Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Rohit

Lovely looking car mate.......Have you removed the tints? IIRC Mark had it tinted only a few months back
Welcome to the forum. If you drive the car around with those wires hanging out the back, you're likely to be arrested as a terrorist. ;)

Hello and welcome

Post 727360 by Rogo1806 on 2014-08-01 20:32:01

Yehh I removed the tints as I like dark tints on light cars but not dark on dark. I thought them wires were supposed to be there :) Think that was actually the extension lead and hair dryer lol

Did you get the throttle cable checked? I ask cos my Saab seems way faster than the R off the line, and that definitely makes me think that the cable needs adjusting.
Did you get the throttle cable checked? It was found that it was due to a few boost cables which gave the hesitation you had described at 3.5k. Throttle cable adjusted and also with all pipes back to orig and fully cleaned out the idle is sweet and does stays exactly where it should. Slight oil leak in cam belt region, suspected to be camshaft seals. Nothing major atm but will be gettin it done towards the end of the year. Oh and my indicator light fell off on the motorway.. Lol. I couldn't stop laughing.. Well I did when I had to buy a new one at 58 quid :(

Hi Guys, I managed to get the refurbed wheels and new tyres on today :) Have a look and tell me what you think. Also yesterday I got my private plate on and managed to 'Rug Doctor' my whole interior!!

That looks lovely and the later c70 lights and grille really make all the difference.

Post 728433 by t5 pete on 2014-08-08 00:00:44

That looks great the lighter wheel's really suit it much better and give it a brighter cleaner look

You have knocked years of it. It's looking really fresh. How's the condition of the alcantara?
You have knocked years of it. It's looking really fresh. How's the condition of the alcantara?
Cheers! The alcantara on the drivers and passengers is 'Bobbly' the rear ones are decent. After I did the Wet vac it made a big difference. I got a price of 400 to redo the front seats completely - Leather and Diamond stitch alcantara, not sure if I'm going to do it yet though.

I Don't even know why I thought to ask the quistion in the first place, I did a tidy up on mine, it looks like new now. http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?15915-Repairing-alcantara-(with-photos) I did in the end buy a new steering wheel not because of the alcantara but because of the leather, it looked like it was melting, not something I would have expected from a Volvo. My 182 did the same but that was a known issue with them.
That's a really good price where abouts is that from as I will be having my guls front seats redone
I went see this guy - In fact that price was for the fronts of the driver and passenger seats, not the rear of them. It was this guy I went to see, he was really helpful. Might do it in a couple months http://www.davetedstone.co.uk

Looks the spit of mine lol, even down to the jewel lights and egg crate grille  As Volvokid says, no need to pay someone to refurb your seats - it took me 10 mins to make mine like new - I used sandpaper (see Volvokid's thread, I've added to it). Keep up the good work!

I used a de-bobble electric clothes shaver on my v70r & the type r, it knocked years worth of wear off them both. Really like the look of the car, I love the crystal headlights & egg crate look, definitely what I want if I get a v/s70 again.
