Have just received some Email's about the cars official launch date in two weeks time.

Top gear like the sound of it. T8 engine.
The Twin Engine develops the power you might expect of a V8, but comprised with just four cylinders and an electric motor. The system uses a powerful electric motor in conjunction with our supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine. The result is an output of about 400hp but with fuel consumption and CO2 emissions far lower than most comparable cars on the market.

I had a rant about the T8 over on pistonheads. T8, by tradition, should be an 8 pot with a blower. I don't care what the paperwork says, if you keep a mobile phone for 2 years, the battery is completely knackered, I can't see a 2 year old volvo producing 400bhp, with the batteries being constantly charged and discharged all the time.
And then there's the environmental impact of producing and disposing of said batteries....
They should've developed the T6 more imo.

Or the V8 as we all know it can get near 800bhp......

I love it , most new Volvos take me a while to grasp, the specs are for an impressive read, the diesels need more power though I think oh and the grill will take a bit of getting used to but I'm sure I will get to like it.

Good car technically, not too bad from the back but the front is not great

Looks like it's aimed at the American market.

I suspect it will be like range rovers - most of the fault occurring will be electrical not mechanical.
my phone wont work etc etc ........
glad I'm not main dealer anymore
