Solicitors will usually give 30 mins free advice, need to be sure you pick correct branch so you get an expert in the field of your question Sometimes house insurance has free legal advice/representation attached, worth checking that Citizens Advice Bureau also good

Forgot to add... for family law, these are the best in my area, supposed to be one of best in UK http://www.silkfamilylaw.co.uk/ Have used Smith & Graham (Hartlepool) before for criminal law case and Short, Richardson & Forth (Newcastle) for debt recovery/financial law All mentioned above very good & successful
