V70 r phase one awd in sonic blue
Sonic blue is a p2 colour iirc 05 onwards, mine is sonic blue on 2006 or do you mean laser blue
sure i said that already lol
U thinking of selling it
This has to be one of the worst whats it worth thread. can we have normal details and pictures
Hello all. Its someone that I know owns the car. Just wondering what they could sell it for. Excuse the ignorance on the shade of blue. Its bright blue similar to sonic blue for that year of car. As for pictures I aint ever worked out how to load pics onto this forum from my phone.
Other details for t5 pete - it has black wheels. A spoiler and some sort of black film glued to the inside of the windows. I believe that the youngsters call it tinting.
And thats about as good as a choclate fire gaurd its worth a curly wurly thats out of date
Inde-House, does the car look like this....
You need to tell us the model year (this makes a huge difference as there were 3 phases of the P1 R)?
Manual or auto?
Single or twin rear exhaust (one on the n/s or two each side)?
The wheels were never painted black from factory, they were Anthracite, which is like a mild gun metal grey colour.
Does it have the original wheels? They should be 5 spoke flat wheels called 'Satellite'. The ones pictured above ^^^^^ and will have the R embossed into one spoke.
Colour interior?
Any damage, paint defects etc etc?
Then we can come in with what it's worth. The car, if original, is very rare and in Laser blue very sought after so how much it's worth can vary considerably.
Condition and FSH will go along way to ensuring it's worth top dollar.
Lee t5 whats that car worth now in the picture s
Hello lee. I was not aware that there were so many variations of the v70r. The car in question does look like that. whats that worth the car in question is an auto. With a cat back twin exhaust. One either side. No.map. no rip kit. And I do believe that the wheels are the same as that but painted black.

Hi Abdul, thats's a very good question and I appreciate you asking me. Unfortunately, I cannot answer it because I sold that car back in Jan 2010. I bought that car way back in 2006/7 and I paid the asking price of £5,000 with the engine light 'on'!! I sold it for £4,000, which IIRC was approx £2,500 over what the Glasses book guide price. The reason for the inflated sale price was because the car was in Concorse condition. Prior to my ownership the car had only 2 owners, both were men in suits and serviced by their local dealer. In the 3-4 years I owned her, It basically had an open cheque book. Anything that went wrong was fixed immediately regardless of cost, including the reason for the 'EML' which was a new ETM at the dealer. On top of that I replaced the breather system, fully serviced and maintained, cleaned the engine and detailed, had the front end resprayed and any paint defects (there were only a couple) corrected professionally, replaced the exhaust system with stainless, remapped stage 2, replaced headlights and fitted HIDs and a whole raft of modifications and tweaks that improved the car without devaluing it.
Selling the car was my first mistake. It wasn't until after I had sold it did I then realise how rare this particular car is. I had never seen another example in mint condition and only know of a few really clean/mint examples on the forum. Even driving round the S.E of England doing my job.....never, ever saw one or attended one!
The car was sold to a forum mbr who never drove the car for personal reasons. He sold it on to another forum mbr who IIRC never owned it for more than a few months, then sold it on.
If I were to see the car today, in the same condition I sold it in but with a few more miles, then I would happily part with £3,000 - £3500.
Truth of the matter is, I bet, the current owner don't look after it like I did and she won't get an open cheque book. So it's fair to say that condition wise it will probably be awful! I wouldn't even park under trees in it, nor do I in my current R either!
I cannot remember what the mileage was (IIRC about 136k) so you could be looking at between £1,500 - £3,000 totally depending on condition and mileage - nothing else.
Here are some pre sale photos taken a few months before I sold her...
That was a 1999 model Phase 2 V70R AWD ^^^ and had an 'Adaptive learning' 5 spd auto. box
There were 3 phases of the P1 model V70R. The Phase 3 car came with 265bhp and a twin exhaust as stock.
What year is the car mate??
What's the mileage??
Hello mate. I dont know the year of the car or the milage. Just someone who I work with
Then I'm afraid my answer is as per t5pete's reply!
Im suprused you've lasted this long the ammount of effort ypu have gone to, to try and help hom and still cannot give a decent description of this said car what a pointless question.
Thenks for the reply leet5 the cars a credit to u and its former owners i liked this carwhen u had it then it went t a few members here thdn it went to fammanmark who sold it on then I chased the last owner for oer 6 monts in the end he agreed to sell it to me I paid £2599 or it the mileage at present is 148 k but like I said its a credit to its forer owners and u or a 15 year old car it was stunning rice wise I wuldntsell it for less tan £3500 its probly worth less but what can u get for tat money
Sorry for all the spelling mistakes using my phone
The car needs a front bumper respray and a few scratches here ad there otherwise its in excellent condition I would probably sell it if I could get a sonic blue ( harveys car ) or maybe green car (volvokid ) which I think I have no chance at all
Or maybe I could end up with your car leet5 but on that I probably would say I have no chance
I know that leet5 volvokid and harvey would have cars that will be immaculate and would be looked after
Im suprused you've lasted this long the ammount of effort ypu have gone to, to try and help hom and still cannot give a decent description of this said car what a pointless question.
Well, you can't say I didn't try!!

I thought the ph2 had the 4 sp box, but were me7?
J70 vol is / was much nicer than mine.

I do like the head lights on that old car of yours lee. I do apologise for being so vague. The reason I was asking is that I have been offered a laser blue v70r for a less then a grand and was wondering if its worth a punt. No tax or mot needs a wheel bearing an pcv. Just wanted to know ehat the resale value msy be on one if the rarer models

I still can't answer your question because I still don't know the mileage!! Or the model year.
Of course lee. But you have been very helpful. If I can find that info out I will get back to you. My mts will lynch me if I buy a car as I just bought a house
Of course lee. But you have been very helpful. If I can find that info out I will get back to you. My mts will lynch me if I buy a car as I just bought a house
A laser blue phase 3 for under a grand? Second dibs if you don't buy it ;)
A laser blue phase 3 for under a grand? Second dibs if you don't buy it ;)
He never said it was a Phase 3 car! Could be a Phase 1 with 195k and dents and scratches...in which case it's worth £450.
Inde house if u dont want it maybe somebody else will want it on here
I paid less than a grand for my ph3, full main dealer history as was a reps car (some well paid rep). Loads of miles but drove perfect.
Just have to wait till indie gets us the correct info.
He never said it was a Phase 3 car! Laser Blue was not available on a Phase 1 car, only Phase 2 & 3. There were 3 phases of R-AWD produced between 1997 and 2000:- Phase 1 :- were produced from 1997 till February 1999 (UK P - S reg)and were available with either the B5234T-4 (2319cc) engine (18T turbo 250bhp/350nm)and 5-speed manual gearbox or the B5234T-6 engine (16T turbo 240bhp/310nm) and 4-speed 3 mode automatic gearbox. Both engines used the Motronic 4.4 engine management system. (0-60 7.3/8.1, 152/143mph) Phase 2 :- were produced from March 1999 (UK S - T reg) and were only available with the B5234T-8 (2319cc) engine (18T turbo 250bhp/310nm) and 4-speed adaptive automatic gearbox. These cars use the ME7 engine management system with fly-by-wire throttle and variable exhaust camshaft valve timing. (0-60 7.8 143mph) Phase 3 :- were produced from September 1999 till March 2000 (UK V - W reg) and were only available with the larger B5244RT (2435cc) engine (19T turbo 265bhp/350nm) and 5-speed adaptive automatic gearbox. Engine used stronger internal components. These also use the ME7 engine management system, Fly-by-wire and VVT. These cars were fitted with twin tail pipes (first time Volvo fitted twin exhaust system), WHIPS" system and larger side SIPS airbags for head protection and vented rear performance disc's. (0-60 7.3 152mph) Latest generation of Road Traffic Information Satellite Navigation used on the Phase III’s, this is the same CD based system used by Volvo up until 2003 and on the C70 till 2006. Roof rails were changed now the same as V70XC. Volvo sold 74 Phase III’s in the UK, split by colour: Black stone 5 Nautic Blue Pearl 10 Dark Olive Pearl 3 Silver Metallic 17 Laser Blue Metallic 33 Venetian Red Pearl 6 Trim and spec levels remained virtually un-changed throughout the 3 phases. Trim was Leather and Alcantara in either Beige or Grey/Black with aluminium trim on the dash and console (dark wood was an option on P1 and P2 cars). On P1 cars the steering wheel was also leather/alcantara, but phase 2 and 3 had a thicker rimmed leather only wheel. Phase II and III had blue engine covers. Phase 3 cars had the option of contrasting grey/beige trim. These cars were virtually "fully-loaded" with very few options available (mainly pro-logic (£600), 6 CD boot mounted changer (£600), RTI-Satellite Navigation(£2500)) as they cost £37,000 when new. The colours available were as follows :- Phase 1 :- Saffron, Black Stone, Nautic Blue, Silver, Regency Red Phase 2 :- Laser Blue, Black Stone, Nautic Blue Pearl, Silver Metallic, Cassis, Venetian Red Pearl, Dark Olive Green Phase 3 :- Laser Blue, Black Stone, Nautic Blue Pearl, Silver Metallic, Venetian Red Pearl, Dark Olive Green
In Summary, a week has passed and we're still no further establishing exactly what car you're asking to value except that it is a tinted automatic car in blue with black wheels, a spoiler and twin exit.... £375 and a slightly out of date Muller Rice :B_thumb:
