Hi I have a avolvo V70 with a few woes,I have posted that one on the V series part of the forum to try to get that one fixed lol. But In the meantime I have been offered a Volvo S80 D5 Auto 2004 year,120k full fsh nice metallic grey mint car. The guy tells me it has developed a gearbox fault. The car is quite cheap so it might be worth a gamble. £750 he's asking This is the problem he reports car drives fine on the flat and whilst cold, but when warm going uphills it dosnt change up into top gear, but he says its not slipping. Any ideas I have seen some things about a solenoid that might be a cause. I may be able to get some fault codes off it when I go to have a look at it. It a bit of a gamble I know as if its needs a gearbox £500 plus used, plus fitting hoping it might be something simpler. thanks

I'll be honest. It's not worth the aggro mate, even if he was asking half that. Spend your money on a known 'working' car, not one that has a potential ticking time bomb and probably the potential to right the car off! You'll be throwing your money away.
