Frankie, why did you ask this question on Passion Ford, " I'd like to know who done this engine rebuild and when please? interesting to know you have all the old mots etc to back up the mileage too"

Post 732571 by leet5r on 2014-08-31 12:53:56

not having a dig here but I think the car isn't very good , looks like its been built with spare parts that some 1 had laying around , for something that was ment to be very low miles it had a 2wd head on and a 2wd turbo yet the car was a 4x4 ?? to me something is a miss somewhere

does it really matter? those that saw it said it looked lovely and for a car i only paid £3300 for i aint gonna complain especially when i sold it for £5800, i'd have it back

I'm not a cossie person, but I seem to remember something about most being converted to 2wd because of 4x4 issues? Isn't it the nature of these cars they seem to be owned by petrol heads who tune them, especially as they have a massive parts base to choose from.

Just seems a bit pointless arguing over a car that nobody on the forum owns, that's not even a Volvo.

ive a soft spot for the sapphire cossy and tbh i dont think it matters who owned it,these cars always need a rebuild which is one of the main reasons i never got one and another reason i got the t5,they seem to take a bit more stick ;) i saw the car in person while flat out frankie had it and it looked good and the engine was tighter than a nuns chuff and went like stink as well, and the fact the bloke is the second owner since little legs had it who knows what life it had?? anyways thought id post my two bobs worth as it also gives me a chance to call frankie some names :P
Did you not actually see it in person?
I saw pics of it and the ones showing under the bonnet didn't inspire confidence that it was as good as Frankie said it was. I also had messages from people who had seen the car and said it wasn't anywhere near as good as Frankie was making out. Frankie has this habit of buying cars then saying they are all faster and MINT condition and the best car ever and we should be all envious lol. There's no love lost between us and to be honest I find it funny when he bites like he does.

But it still seems a bit of a silly thread about a car he sold 2 years or so ago (ish), which you haven't seen or had any dealing, seems to perturb you somewhat, I just don't get it? Can you explain it, is it just a reason to harass? If that's the case would it not be faster and more direct to start a "I don't like frankie thread"

Post 732721 by T5frankie on 2014-09-01 05:12:27

No matter how many photos I put up of it showing what cracking condition it was in and forum members saying how great it looked you are going by the words of one bloke trying to cause trouble at the time. There was not a scratch on that car. It's all irrelevant now. I will say it again that cars bodywork was mint because it was.. time to drop the boring subject.
Mike probably is Tony they're strangely similar
We are both very knowledgeable when it comes to Volvos, so if you need any advice on how to build an engine properly or clean a car properly then just ask.

Post 732922 by leet5r on 2014-09-01 22:22:04

doesn't say much for the guy who rebuilt the engine before Frankie got it and then its needed another rebuild with in 2 years ?? its easy to pick faults with peoples cars . av been to a few meets and seen a lot of the cars in the flesh and some that's described as mint arnt and some that are mint when the owners quiet moddest about it. my saph isn't mint by any standards which is why it hasn't seen much road use the 1st year and half of owning her but this last year shes been used a lot more , just cocked 117k , no engine rebuild in sight but has had the top end refreshed , she will be getting some goodies this winter tho , hmmm t34 and sieman 55lbs injectors
