Post 737761 by smithy on 2014-09-28 13:31:23

I think you need new drive shafts the ones in Jim's car are proberly 15 years old .it always finds the weak spot .but 13.9 is good though .and lower times to come .them tyres are really sticky too with no give so the stress on them shafts must be emence

Bloody hell, not much luck lately, I hope the high compression on Wobblys engine hasn't come back and bit him on the arse, and i seem to remember suggesting running Evans coolant.
Cheers mate, im in the IoM for the mid october one but hopefully be at the end October if the weathers ok
I may have to look at reworking my calender, as I've only run one event this year, I really need to stick down a competitive time this year and the lower drive box hasn't been properly tested yet, so if I can get the diff fitted and a couple of other bits and bobs, I may make the final run of the year and would be a great weekend job, as they have there fireworks and other stuff on the saturday night, always wanted to do that weekend. I would mean that I'd have to stiff my jaunt to the Softies meet to the end of November though

Post 738284 by Wobbly Dave on 2014-09-30 15:28:40

Good news is that the Fed RSR tyres worked really well and I manage (on both my runs) a consistent 2.20 60ft - running 13.920 & 13.877 (104.1 & 104.2 mph respectively). At the Top end of the run I knew that the 3rd & 4th gear full 1.7 bar boost was misbehaving, with the power coming & going, but I believe that was down to the reconditioned ETM/calibration issues, which I still need to resolve. Could also be down to the HG starting to go. HG has blown - I will describe more detail on my project thread.
