Ignoring posts

I just read Adrian's post ref ignoring jamest5, I think this maybe a good solution. I will be doing so today, as I find it is like talking to a block of wood and don't wish to be drawn into stupid threads. It seems to be having a detrimental effect on the forum and blocking decent threads and banta. Plus I'm stick of looking at his black t5 every time I open a thread. This would probably work better as a group effort and would make threads appear normal again, when I log in. Should we start a list? Then he may realise how annoyed people are in an un-argumentative way.

If you wish to ignore a member then the forum software has this option built in. To ignore a user, go to their user profile (by clicking their name and selecting 'View Profile') and in the menu on the left should be an option to 'Add to Ignore List'. Click this and confirm on the next page. Posts from ignored members will be hidden from you. Hope this helps

Other v bulletin forums I've used had a feature where you could ban people from your threads, is this available Dave?

I don't know, probably not a standard feature of vbulletin. I'll have a look though as I'm intrigued.

Banning people from threads is sort of against the point of a forum, also if you want to ignore someone just do it, no need to have a thread to mass organise it. Ste, I don't want to see another thread like this started here by you again, it might change my mood.
