Thought this was quite umm 'interesting' when it pulled into my brothers garage. I'd only ever seen a picture of one before. Not sure if I like it, too many parts from other cars!
What do you guys think?
Oh and if anybody can tell me where they get the headlights I'll buy you a curly wurly!!

Nice colour , there was talk at the time of a 1000 BHP tuning pack for it. Headlights look like Audi ones.

Fiat punto.
Our local mg dealer had one with the factory option nos etc. it sounded awesome, was pretty quick but broke quite a lot. Lol

Biff, where would you like me to send your curly wurly?
This one was a press car, hence number plate. It has the 385bhp 5.0l V8.

I like them when they've been in the fridge mate... ;)
An old mates uncle used to have the mg garage & he had various different models, this & the rover 75 with the same engine will always have a place in my heart.
I've had various rovers over the years from a 25 2.0tdi that I was given to an 800 2door vittesse in a nice Jewish racing gold. :)

I like the zt260, unusual and sounds nice.
That's cool though different.

Would look good in a darker colour.

I drove one about 11-12 years ago and had I not been in poverty at the time I would have probably bought one.
Great car but it did highlight what was wrong with MG Rover at the time, sticking plasters over refreshing the range of mass produced models people may have actually bought.

I've seen one of these before, was certainly a max power style car

Yes I was working at long bridge when these and the mg 260zt came out very nice motor .they had the xpower side of the plant that could mid the car to the owners spec very cool.the mg260zt to get though are the prodrive limited ones .thats where the car was first designed before rover got it back and redesigned some of the stuff to make the car cheaper .

I remember the pro drive model, didn't it have a different diff?
Zt 260... I couldn't remember the name. Bet that was a pretty cool place to work smithy.

Someone at my work has one, i really like it and does sound epic with a good exhaust on. Only issue i had with it was, it seemed quite slow (my e39 540 pee'd all over it) and it was horrendous on fuel. He was shocked at how much better on fuel my 540 was compared to his.

Absolute brilliant to drive, not very fast, crap on fuel, but on a track they are so much fun.

I'd have one, a proper British muscle car :)
...Plus one hit Clarkson over the head!
(can't find video)

there used to be a SV that regularly raced at Santa Pod, he was a well known driver apparently so they gave him one to get them some PR

I suggested a supercharger for it, but apparently it takes a lot of work because of how the engine is positioned.

I'd imagine they're much like a TVR, got the sound, and power, but iffy handling, and unreliable.

Funnily enough the back end looks very TVR, but with more fiat lights!
