I found it's more cost effective to eat them and just buy a new one in April. :)

I had a tortoise as a kid, it never made it through hibernation. :(

You hibernate them in the fridge now only for a few weeks.
I had a tortoise when I was kid, every year my dad would put Fred the tortoise in a cardboard box and cover him with straw. He made it to the right full age of 15.
Mine are purely for home protection. They are working tortoises.
The thing is, in their natural habitat, they don't hibernate, so just keep it nice and warm in the house.

ours escaped out of the garden a couple of years ago, my mrs had had her for 10 years and she never hibernated her in that time :B_thumb:
