Had my car about 5 weeks now and had my first and i hope last breakdown today had a long run this morning and she was fine go to pick little one up from school go to leave and nothing not even dash lights ... long story short battery is shot and guess what garage say it not covered as its a perishable item ....least i didnt pay for wty that useless piece of paper was with car :worried::worried:

Bummer mate.
With all the battery dependant gear in modern cars, you'd think there would be some sort of warning.

Did the garage test the charging system,strange for it just to fail without any clue.

They say it had their 120point check bla bla bla etc and bat was fine they say and in fairness it has been till today .

Typically, you'd expect some warning but they can fail like that.
While bloody annoying, I wouldn't consider a battery a warranty-able item on a used car either.

Looking on the bright side, at least you get to choose a good quality battery as a replacement....Bosch are excellent.

Thanks guys will look at those as i dont get paid till end of month i got a volvo one for 20quid secondhand till then but will keep that as a spare as not sure how old etc it is
