Having bought a S70 T5 for Rachel, for work, it turns out the boot isn't big enough for all the child relatedequipment she has to carry around, so we've been on the look out for a V70. When Craig (Tomcat) posted a breaking thread for a saffy V70R last week, I thought I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone, by saving a car that was too good to break, and getting a V70 for Rachel's work. After a chat with Craig, a deal was struck, and today we drove up to Wigan to pick it up. After an absolutely crap journey up, (the M6 was a nightmare) we got to Craigs about an hour an a half late. Anyway fair play to Craig, he'd put a lot of work in during the week to get the car running properly for the journey home, and even fitted the dizzy cap I'd brought with me so I wouldn't get my hands dirty. The car still had a slight misfire, but this was soon cured when I gave it the beans, and it cleared itself, and didn't miss a beat on the 200 mile journey home. It has a couple of 'issues' that I will sort, but I knew the car wasn't perfect, and Craig had made that quite clear. So we now have 2 Rs:
Big thanks to Craig for all his help, sorry we couldn't stay and chat for longer, but we still had a long journey home, hopefully see you at RAF Cosford.

Hope the car is a good one for you and well saved!! Bet your nose was bleeding being this far up North eh? Being 1.5 hours late after using the M6 is the norm, and you actually made good time by the sounds of it.............

What I can't understand about the M6 is everyone comes to a stop, you queue for 20 minutes, then it all clears again, with no sign of anything causing a hold up. :wallbash: And yeah, being that far north was somewhat out of my comfort zone. ;)

As said mate looks a good car.
If it covered 200 miles it sounds like your on to a winner as mine wouldn't of when I bought it (the saffy).
I miss mine when I looked at that pic but I am a sucker for gay gold.

Thats usually down to some idiot having to brake hard causing a ripple through the traffic till everyone has stopped and scratching their rears .......
nice to see a saff being saved tho be nice to see it at a meet once all done
