Hi folks, I'm Simon and I'm an alcoholic...........
Anyway......So after trying Japanese years ago I went all Swedish and bought a stage 3+ Saab 9000, then to save money I bought a diesel golf (which cost me lots) and then I finally saw sense and bought a 53 plate S60 D5. I'll be honest it's the biggest engine yet most economical car I've ever owned and It's a pleasure to drive!
Some of you I may have chatted to at Swedish day or the 'southern softies' meet in the past.
Errrrm, I'll make that do for now as it's time to leave work. :-)
Regards. Simon.

Finally seen sense then mate, nice to have you along. Have you managed to pinch the DTi tuning box off Darren's engine yet?

Oh I remember you popped along to the southern meet ages ago. We spoke at the time, did you say you worked in a scrappy or something?
Welcome to the club and no excuse not to come along to the next southern meet, especially as it's a d5

There goes the neighbourhood... I've got padlocks on my bonnet now too before you get any ideas!

Ha ha ha, I forgot to say I'm Darrens brother.
Yeah that was me from the scrappy, I'm back working with bruv now. And yes it was very brrrr that day!
A tuning box may well be on the cards soon! Although there is ample power as standard compared to the golf.
I have a couple of minor niggles to sort first though, namely the headlight/foglight switches are back to front for some reason? And if I can decide which wheels I have I can buy a spare and get rid of the space saver.

If they're multi-spoke-looking things, they're called Tethy, standard fitment on the S60.

Hey Simon... Does this mean you'll be able to show up to the Swedish day in your own car for a change? :hilarious

Quite possibly lol.
And the wheels look a bit like volans but very slightly different. If I can suss out how to upload a pic from this phone I will.

The d5 wheels are Thor's - similar looking to volans but slightly heavier set with more spokes. Nice wheels though.

Thors - of course! from the newer models :slap:

Yep, that's the ones. Cheers guys.
I'm slowly working out what I have lol. It looks like it was registered very early 2004 yet it's a 53 plate, it has the later clocks according to bruv with the silver rings? It has reversing sensors, rain sensitive wiper although I don't think they are standard. The tax disc holder has a wire coming from it down behind the dash for some reason which I can't quite work out? It's had a hid headlight conversion which is nice! Dark grey and only 127000 miles.

And why has 'he' got better front seats than me?!
Mine are lard ass versions and 'his' are more sticky outey in the bolster department.
I want S60 front seats!

And besides, gentlemen of our "stature" aren't suited to sport seats - we're built for comfort ;)

I've even got twin air bags :D
Post 746843 by reedler18 on 2014-11-06 19:53:47
Yeah I need holding in place more, although this problem came up on the Saab club and someone suggested driving in the nude, thus eliminating any sliding about. Can I still come to the southern softies meet if I'm only wearing a smile?

No, I've seen you in the shower at work. You're blessed...
