Right folks, just bought and received some 'special' alloys for the Volvo. They are a fat chunky 5 spoke design, and no they're not bloody Pegs :P Come on, what colour on my car? I'm thinking a darkish silver, nothing too dark. Image14-11-14 001 by AcidicDavey, on Flickr ...and no one take the mick out of my 4x4, ride height rectification coming soon ;)

Agreed, nothing too dark on an already dark car. Shadow silver does sound like a plan Dave, maybe bordering toward a light gunmetal. Either way, they're gonna look awesome mate! :D

I had dark comets on it before and looking back now they looked pretty crap. Image I am very much swayed towards the dark silver. Like the idea of bronze or copper or something but I reckon I'd end up regretting it as I don't have big enough balls to pull it off.

Yeah, that wasn't the best look. Hmm... Perhaps a gunmetal with a slight copper flake?? That would look pretty special on a sunny day! :D

I think they look fine as they are, make the difference to a dark car.

Toyota do a nice bronze. My dad had an auris in it. Recommend that, was tempted myself on the bullion but Not on my fakeR

Hyper silver on a dark car
Hyper silver on a dark car
Spot on, Rachel had hyper silver wheels on her black Cougar, looked the nuts. The R wheels will be done the same when they're refurbed.

I agree they need to be light - I'd go with a bright silver on a blue car. I'm not keen on the Scooby look so I'd avoid any shade of gold/bronze like the plague. Dark silver tends to look simply dirty, so I'd go with a bright silver. Or white, but keeping them clean could be a never ending battle (which is why I chickened out of doing my centres in white lol).

riding high there Davey show us the alloys then..if they are like those 5-spokes u had on Poppy, I think bright silver might look a bit over then top edit A flash of inspiration! What your car needs is some sill lighting! Never mind the coil overs! Be carfeul though with some light & heat the kids might start to congregate under your car to shelter from the rain and listen to popular music

Wtf Jamesy, what are you like lol They're much more modern than what I had on Poppy, they have 'twisted' spokes, that should be a clue for some ;) I dropped them off at the refurbers today, just waiting on centre caps to arrive so they can be colour coded when the wheels are done. Still not sure on the colour but it is definitely going to be a shade of silver. Not keen on white wheels on anything but a white car, they just look chav most of the time! The only reason I mention bronze is because I've seen a few sets of C70 Canistos in gold or bronze and they look good but it won't suite my new wheels I don't think. I'm not quite sure why I made this thread, it sounds like I've made my mind up about silver lol The coilovers are going on the car on Saturday hopefully :D

I'm thinking they should have yellow centres, Dave :) Oh, James: I can confirm that when I compared the two together, Dave's car sits even higher than my 960! Bahahahahahahaha!! :D

Centre caps will be colour matched to the wheels. :) ...and that's with her nose down, trust me with it on a level there is enough room for you to stand on the tyre in the wheel well!

Neither has MRP's V70, but his look really cool on the dark wheels. I think the yellow against the dark blue of your car would be a nice touch on silver wheels, and make them stand out even more :)
