At the 4th time of asking the V70R has passed it's MOT, the main problem was the handbrake performance, even after fitting new shoes, and adjusting it up as much as I thought was possible it wouldn't go through, so I left it with the garage to do, and they did it, although apparently it was a 2 man job. New problem is the n/s CV joint is knocking badly on full right hand lock, so it's going to need changing sooner rather than later, my question is, is it the same as other P1 cars, or R specific?

Same iirc seen a few r and non r, is yours awd? Different shaft if it is.

No worries mate, hopefully got 2 complete driveshafts coming from an R reg V70R that's being broken.

If your using a secondhand shaft, auto shafts are thinner.
Nothing wrong with secondhand shafts, just re pack with cv grease and new boot.

Jim is that good that he knew I'd cocked up, it is the n/s one that's gone, I put o/s by mistake, unfortunately still won't fit.

Yeah they, 26 or 36 splines I believe. Plus I think the ME7s are secured to the hub by a bolt were as the earlier ones a nut.
I'd like to think that the n/s driveshaft would be the same for AWDs or FWDs, just the o/s one would be different?

Why would the o/s be different if the n/s are the same?

Because of the transfer box. Obviously the o/s one comes out of the transfer box so would be shorter than a FWD one.
I honestly couldn't tell you for definite, just a thought is all.

No same length as fwd just thinner to fit through angle gear.

Here you are girls here is the difference between AWD and NON AWD drive shafts.
NON AWD drive shaft

As you can see you can`t use a NON AWD drive shaft in a AWD.

They are good to go, but I'll check in the morning. Maybe I'm just fastidious, I'd replace the boots and re grease before putting on.
They are actually from a low ish miles car (relatively low)
