anyone feel free to chip in on this, i fitted an mbc a while ago and if its turned up to high the engine cuts the power (not a pleasant feeling)i under stood this to be called over boost "am i correct" .also in this presant cold foggy weather im getting "overboost" quite a lot but i was expecting that to happen , so is it right that if i disconnect the pipes to the EBC on the side of the air filter that i will no longer get this over boost ? if that is right what do i do with the pipe ends and the openings left in the EBC?..

Your overboosting for a reason. If you've got the money for a re-build when you bend rods then carry on playing. If you haven't then turn it down to where its not over boosting and leave it alone :) Just a bit of advice from someone who has bent rods :(

I agree with Redbrick, when I fitted mine although I set up with a seperate gauge it needed fine tuning on the car (about 6-7 times) now it goes well into the white part of the boost gauge on the dash but never cuts out. I beileve its given more oomph than any tuning box or chip I've had on other cars and all for £30! Mike

Cold weather - colder air - overboost. Knock the MBC back a bit, before you have to fix something. M
