3 years ago yesterday, I joined VPCUK, and what a bad influence you've all been. From buying an S60R to replace our written off Skyline, to now owning 4 Volvos, and spending literally thousands modifying them. It's been great fun, and we've met some great people who we can honestly call good friends, here's to the next 3 years and beyond. :D

If you knew about cars, you'd know that only a small percentage of Skylines are GTRs, and before the R32, they were only breathed on saloons. Oh, and it was far nicer than a ££££let.
I happen to know a fair bit about skylines actually :) the Mines R33 being my favorite. A lad I went to school with has a R33 drift car and an R32 drag car that did a 9.6 quarter at santa pod a few years back, before it went bang. It's now being run-in after it's rebuild. But the r32,r33, and r34 look nothing like the r31 and r30 that went before, and none of them look like the original 1969 Skyline, so who's to say which is the 'proper' one?
Who's to say anything is "proper" does it matter? and if it does matter, does it matter that it matters? I'm merely agreeing with opinions about the G35 that have been around for ages. Not my fault these opinions came about and not a deliberate act of malice toward the car if I were to agree with those opinions.

My brother has an MG, doesn't make me an expert on them, I have a favourite cheese, but that doesn't make me an authority in the field. I find these strange comments from someone who owns a ££££let (which isn't even a proper one, as the original RWD ones were proper ones) and the only Nissan your wife and you have owned is a Note. If you want to slate my cars fine, but perhaps you should look closer to home first.

Bites like a rattlesnake :) And when did I say I was an expert? As I pointed - out in my last post, I'm merely agreeing with opinions that have been about for years. The P2 is often regarded as "not a proper volvo" but you don't see me spitting my dummy about it. And as for the starlet, I'm fully aware of what it is but it serves me well.

[/QUOTE] You may not have used the word expert, but you made out you knew about them, yet all you can do is quote other peoples opinions on the car, as you've never driven one yourself. That's not biting, or spitting the dummy, that's stating fact. Why don't you do some research on Skylines before spouting rubbish about them? They have always been higher end 4 door saloons and 2 door coupes, just because we only got the GTR over here with the R32/33/34 doesn't mean they didn't produce other models, for example, the R32 came with engines ranging from a 90 bhp 1.8 through various n/a and lpt to the GTR. I'm sure an owner of the 1.8 didn't call it something different because it wasn't a GTR. The V35 (the model we had) was totally in keeping with the Skyline ethos, just because it doesn't suit your chavs wet dream image of a Skyline, says more about you than the car.
It really is that simple isn't it, when I hear the name Skyline I can't help but think of big twin turbos, 600+bhp+ etc. It's just how it is, people just aren't too familiar with the V35 here and I bet quite a few wouldn't recognise one as a 'Skyline' initially. Personally, I like them, classy and a bit different.

And the fact you're starting to resort to personal insults just proves the biting and dummy spitting theory does it not? Just because I don't rate a car you once owned.

As for having a 6 pot and RWD, so has an R32 GTS, R33 GTS, R34 GT, GT-T, GT-V, GT-X. Seriously mate do some research.

I had a Supra that some say wasn't a Supra but it was because it looked like a twin turbo even though it was an NA Supra but it was still a proper Supra just didn't go like a proper Supra. Shame cause it looked just like it would go like a proper Supra. :riceboy:
