Hello one and all..... Need your thoughts... Ok, the wife is doing longer journeys now and her current 2006 V70 T5 is a bit thirsty ,, even with fuel prices at a low. She is looking at a 2005 Volvo v70 D5 AUTO ,,, she still needs the room for her kit which isnt heavy just bulky and loves the V70 Is a V70 D5 going to be that much better on fuel,,, any problems with auto boxes on them,,, she wants auto !! Cheers all Le Plop !

I've found my S60 D5 to be very economical, half the fuel costs of the T5. I think you'll find the V70 D5 to be much better on fuel compared to the D5 although I imagine the Auto would be less efficient than the manual.

On long journeys you won`t feel much defference in mpg from auto to manual, just make shure there is a full service history and get one as low miles as poss, change the auto fluid.
