Hunting upon startup

Over the past week or so I've noticed the car hunting at idle as soon as it's fired up, only lasts for 10 seconds or so and then disappears. Any ideas chaps? Seems to be after the car has been sat in the cold at night as i don't recall it doing it after work.

Clean the idle control valve with some carb cleaner & blow it out with an airline if you can.

What car is it, could be the ambient temperature sensor.

Tried the above and it's made it worse! Dab the throttle on idle and it'll perk up and sit at about 1200 for 3 seconds and then drop back to 950.
