Hi All,
Joined the forum some time ago but never got around to a post....
Just bought a 2006 V70 SE D5 Geartronic, full Volvo s/history with print outs, + the trader is a Volvo specialist and has carried out service + cam belt kit change all with Volvo OEM receipts...last owner was Volvo Johnsons since 2012. I know about potential auto issues the car drove fantastic hot and cold, with very smooth auto changes, no knocks or bangs.... under the car the transmission looked really clean particularly around gasket area so I suspect maybe transmission change but I will need to investigate further through the history.
Really impressed with everything on test drive and excellent condition of the car generally, I ended up buying and p/x the S60 D5, sad to see it go as its been a fantastic vehicle but the new car is much easier with the dog (it has dog guard fitted)...all in all very happy, pics attached :-)
Cheers,
David.

At least being 06 it should have the decent box, what's the code on the box, it's written on top on a plate with a number, something like 5gxxxxxx
Don't forget to give it a gearbox service

Fully aware of geartronic trans issues as I mentioned in my thread...will look for part no. (you got pic of area to view?), and as I have already mentioned will investigate s/history to see if ATF has been changed...

I'll let you know if it's the early or later valve body with the number, fingers crossed it's the 6sp (should be) hopefully it's had a change it won't be listed in the service tick sheets, as it's meant to be sealed for life, have a look for oil / an actual receipt, plus the software / oil update on the ecu.

Car was registered March 2006MY, I understand 6 speed aisin-warner auto transmission was introduced in 2005. I will probably get the ATF changed to be safe, obviously using JWS3309 spec oil...
