Find the carnage pics. £3k for a screwed 850r
Will do, possibly a mod might be able to help? Or I'll have to look around the house.

Well it was/is a cat D.

If you saw the pics that would surprise you, must have been borderline cat c
If you saw the pics that would surprise you, must have been borderline cat c
dont confuse cat c's with being anymore worse than a cat d cos they aint, my citroen c6 was written off cat c but only had two dents in the roof and a few marks on it, its whatever the examiner decides to do

Well it's in relation to value and cost of repair. When this was 18 months old it would have still been worth a few £££

I actually remember what happened now. A414 from Wgc to hertford, in the rain driving fast, lost it hit a peugeot 405 estate with kids in (shortened the car to where they were sitting in the back) then hit the left Armco for a good 100yds. Huw was nearly sent to prison for dangerous driving, ended up doing community service in a charity shop.
ahhhh....gedditt now :)
I had to read Steve's post a couple of times - hard to imagine an 18 month old 850!!

holy jeezus! bet that drives as stable as a ikea flatpack table! that is a bad one =(

In all fairness it didn't do to badly the passenger compartment stayed well intact

Post 760947 by MaxTS on 2015-02-25 22:45:47

Good thing you know that Steve as you'd probably never know it by looking at it unless you really looked for crash damage. It's also funny how almost every modified T5 etc advertised ooutside of the form is "300 plus bhp".

Post 760949 by Ettienne on 2015-02-25 22:51:15

I thought I'd point it out as someone could be mislead, the bonnet is very bent and the pics don't show the damage that well tbh. It looked much worse standing next to it. I'd worry about if it was involved in another crash or rust coming through, poor repair etc Definately hurts the value IMHO
In all fairness it didn't do to badly the passenger compartment stayed well intact
I bet that wouldn't be the opinion for the same accident/car nowadays - the high value of the car at the time will have made the loss adjusters under pressure to recover something

Post 760955 by MRTREE on 2015-02-25 23:13:00

Oh don't get me wrong a cracked bumper these days would get it written off lol they are too keen now, I'm just saying from the point of view of the driver at the time it seems like he had a lucky escape.

It was advertised on a forecourt a few years back and I spoke with the garage and told them, sent them a pic of the damage and they just weren't bothered and sold it as is and advertised as cat d.
