First thing I tried funnily enough. The first link looked brilliant until I saw they don't actually have them lol.

Sorry I can't help you. I've no idea what it even is.

Cheers pete, but unless I can find one cheaper than that it's back to the drawing board!

That's always the problem I know im in for it when I buy a new turbo for the 240 but then again nothing for that car will be cheep I can see why it takes smithy so long

There's a long time and then there's smithy time! I'll sort something out, but the 16t on it now is well beyond its limits! A 19t still wouldn't flow enough either. Might have to go garrett gt3071r or similar..

HE221W will easily out perform any Garrett GT series unit of similar size. Still small turbo though..why not HX35? easily available..

I think the hx35 is a little too big, but I'll look over the compressor maps again. As it's going on my tdi I need something quick spooling yet big enough to flow the amount of air I need. The 221 is perfect.

Diesels love bigger holsets!
Diesels love bigger holsets!
They do but lose out on low end power. Even the 16t, a relatively small turbo, isn't reaching peak boost of 26 psi until 2800-3000rpm. And then its reaching its choke limit pretty quickly. I need to get a few things altered in the map anyway to allow MAP based smoke limitation rather than MAF based, this will allow the ecu to fuel to boost level not the rather spurious maf readings. I should then be able to get away with a hx35 as fuelling will match boost and not create the off boost smoke im getting now.
