Hello to all....i'm new here so be kind to me.....
i've just decided to opt out of my expensive company car scheme - currently running a 320d msport tourer as a commuter but it's costing a fortune in tax a year..so it's going....
I've bought a 2001 V70 T5 in silver....it was always on the short list & after the test drive i was hooked.....
I've had a few blown cars before (several 21 turbos/Impreza wagon etc) but i needed something big, solid & fast enough to keep smiling......
Picking it up on Sunday.....can't wait...!!
Can anyone recommend a good independent Garage in either Salisbury/Blandford/Poole area..
Look forward to having the "fastest Volvo in the village"

Thanks guys.....M-R-P has already been in touch & i'm sure that the drive back from Bristol will throw up any things i missed on the urban roadtest.......
I'm looking forward to me daily commute - Poole via Blandford to work & via Wimborne & the most excellent Cranbourne road on the way home.......

Indeed.....i've had all kinds: phase 1 - phase 2 - phase 3 + a Quadra (4x4).......good cars & cheap power for your bucks.......
Just got back from Bristol & the T5 drives without fault - the steering is a little vague @ speed (compared with the 08 msport) but it goes well & steers/stops/cruises in a straight line...
Best £900 i've spent in ages....

Hi there and welcome to the forum. So are you claiming your mileage back now like me, 45p/mile for the first 10,000, 25p/mile thereafter?

I do about 22-25k, and have been offered a company car. I decided to run my own, and have an Alfa 156 JTD for the bulk of the miles, a Saab 9-5 estate for when I need a bigger car, and my C70 T5 for the rest. Looking forward to the 45p/mile starting again from 6/4/15.

I'm swapping to the V70 on the 5th April - my tax code will go from a "K" code to the standard 1000L - i'm going be around £400 a month better off........plus i get to drive what i want.......if the T5 proves reliable i'll be swapping it for a V70R sometime soon....

Lol, I remember K codes in the days when I did have a company car. That is exactly my thoughts on the matter, in that I get to drive what I want rather than my company.... so win, win really.
