P2 intercooler group buy klracing

Posts

Post 761920 by Ettienne on 2015-03-03 18:43:00

I'll be buying one for the sonic, I've seen how good and cost effective the klracing ones are and I'm not paying £400 iirc for the do88 one from pfv (available in Sweden for £390). The klracing ones are 2900 kr iirc £230 ish. Is anyone interested and possibly maybe we could pop to the factory and collect whilst in Sweden as it's only 80 miles from Gburg, obviously covering costs (fuel) if possible. Could potentially end up with a bargain.

Where are we up to Me 2 Pedro 1 60mm 850 Abdul 1? P1

Post 762028 by Ettienne on 2015-03-04 09:57:56

Currently it's €410 for intercooler shipped €81 posting €329 for the intercooler, works out £230 plus £65 post Exchange rate is very good at the moment.

Post 762029 by Ettienne on 2015-03-04 10:01:04

Ok they will do 15% off as a group buy. Shipped to one address paid upfront Assuming that's intercooler plus postage, so that's £255 delivered, total bargain!! (For p2 and exchange rates can change)

Post 762030 by Ettienne on 2015-03-04 10:06:22

850 intercoolers £190-210 depending on size P2r £230 940 £210 So take approx £30-35 off above price, I'm just looking into shipping now

Post 762033 by LeeT5 on 2015-03-04 10:21:20

You'll save a fortune on shipping if one person, with an estate, collected them from the factory on your Goth' trip! Just need to cover the extra cost of fuel, which wouldn't be much.

Post 762039 by stribo on 2015-03-04 10:41:47

I'd be interested in a P2 one.

Think I was the first to test these in the UK, they're Brill. My intake temps are rarely above 30c even with running a lot more boost than most. The stock setup is over 60c quite easily with an aggressive map. I have loads of data if anyone wants a graph just shout. On a side note mine arrived damaged and their customer service was great, they paid me to get it fixed at the local engineers. Saved a lot of hassle.

Post 762166 by Yosser on 2015-03-05 07:38:09

I was hoping you'd chime in John, I thought that's what you had fitted.

I could do with some input from Gburg drivers, but I can understand if they can't swing by the factory.

You have to change in to euros (top left) then convert to pounds. But it's approx £35-40 shipping on an intercooler, plus cost of intercooler I.e p2 with shipping £235-40, down from £300 so not bad. Don't kill me if prices are slightly out, trying my best to keep on top of it. I'll have to log later once it know what everyone wants.

Ok the money has been taken!! So it's on it's way. The exchange rate was slightly different but nothing upsetting, just buy me a drink. But I know the pitfalls and what to expect now ordering. But on the whole ordering wasn't too bad. Was in the paper this week how strong the pound is, I have a feeling it's on a down turn shortly.

Post 763250 by Dream3r on 2015-03-10 13:30:33

Should have said this earlier, lol. But a FairFX card is a good way to lock down foreign cash rates in situations as these. I used it to stick money away for my cavalli turbo when it was 1.69 USD to the GBP, now it's 1.48 or something. Obviously short term only as it makes money in your bank in the form of interest ;)

O.K. what everyone's been waiting to see, Pete's flange. :D Image The P2 intercooler going on our shed of a S60R, and Lewjt's car: Image And a bit of old scrap going up north to house some pigeons or something. ;) Image A big thanks to Steve for sorting this out, all joking aside, they both look the nads. :B_thumb:

Who has one on an p2 s/vr? What is the installation like and is any extra pipes needed? Cheers
Who has one on an p2 s/vr? What is the installation like and is any extra pipes needed? Cheers
I do, but not a KL Racing one. I have the Ashok/Tim Williams IC. Follow my thread from #67 for lots of pictures and tips. NB: My IC requires no extra pipework or silicone. It uses all OE hoses and connectors, so application may be slightly different. http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?51462-LeeT5-s-V70R-Project/page4

Use them for reference if you like, but I wouldn't follow them to the letter. They've not even bothered to tell you that you will need to cut metal on your slam panel, otherwise, after fitting it all together you won't be able to access your A/C fill port - should it ever need filling or topping up!!

KLracing intercooler was a straight fit using same pipes as standard only thing to note is to check the fitting of the map sensor as it wasn't a standard thread so we had to find an alternative bolt to hold it in place

Post 764456 by Dream3r on 2015-03-19 14:06:21

Mine was just a standard intercooler swap BUT .... longer bolts/washers were sourced, all factory fit for the pipes and no cutting chassis/slam panel/moving AC around. IIRC my BPS bolt was ok, it was a while back now though. You guys got a bargain I found my receipt for this the other day it was over 400 EUR
is it a FMIC?
All P2 Volvo's have an FMIC, it's just in the RAD pack... If you want to mount it actually in front of everything I believe it's possible, I seen a picture somewhere... BTW, your signature stated wastegate pressure is actually the stock pressure for a K24! Not sure if you were aware or not..... :)

Stock is 0.5 bar ~ (exact calculated amount I don't have to hand). I got this from the code on my caR. I guess there might be some variances in age/factory stuff but it should be 0.5 bar with the TCV unplugged and at WOT basically.

All P2 T5/R models Do NOT have a FMIC (only the 2nd Aux IC on the R models is a true FMIC). As you state, it's incorporated in the 'Rad pack' meaning your post is ambiguous. A P2 T5 oe IC is sandwiched between the A/C condenser and the Radiator as is the main IC on an R model. When you fit the KL Racing IC you will be moving the A/C condenser backwards, towards the coolant radiator and mounting the Turbocharger IC in front of the pack. Regards my sig, I'm well aware of what I've set my WG too and stock pressure for a KKK24 on an P2R is not 7.5 psi (I'm referring to 'boost' pressure, not WG setting) it's much higher than that! IIRC it's around 12-15psi, although remember that a P2 model is 'Torque dependant' and you won't see an exact 'max' reading as it differs from driving loads, ambient air temps, throttle pos. etc etc. In actual fact, when I had my New KKK24 turbo fitted, the most I ever saw was 13 psi. But my car is mapped for stage 2 and I see 21-22psi 'peak' and 90% of the time it's around 16 psi.

My Renault has the intercooler next to the n/s/r wing although I'm thinking about changing it out for a charge cooler If we are being exact then 0.5 bar is 7.25189 psi (gauge)

I guess you could talk all day about it but it's 0.5 bar, well the S60R and 2005+ T5 files are setup to control the throttle blade correctly around that pressure, for me this is the biggest indication of what Volvo calibrators expected the WG to start cracking at. Re the IC yes all of them are front mounted, unlike some other cars as pointed out by jamesey :) I'm not taking anything away from anyone both IC's are great, both seem to perform the same as for IAT's, as for pressure drop etc, I've not measured that.
