I think it's time Martin came back, who agrees?

Yup
Me.....the forum isn't the same tbh, I know there normally ended up being some 'off topic' banter but it (99% of the time) good natured.

Yeah.
I spoke to him this week, he seems a bit pissed off / down, so might not be soon, but given some time I'm sure he'll be back and his usual self.
Me :)
Yep, come back!!
Yh is bit strange not seeing his posts on every thread lol, agree with graham.
I miss his banter & advice. We don't want the p2 advice being dished out by "him" do we. I know he's busy with his house & said he's grown up. I think he needs the next mod on the swede!
Attention seeking tw@t, hope he spends his time away growing a pair, that is all.
Attention seeking tw@t, hope he spends his time away growing a pair, that is all.
You on the drink. Not surprised he can't be arsed with this place anymore.
You on the drink. Not surprised he can't be arsed with this place anymore.
No, I offered the olive branch, and got blanked, I haven't got any interest in nurse maiding him.
??? I think I missed something...??? I didn't realise there had been an issue...

The beauty of the internet (and this is something I've been trying to get across to people for some time) is if you don't like reading something, you don't have to. Especially these days with block and ignore functions. Did you know you can also block phone numbers too. Not that I bother as it's a pain.
Attention seeking tw@t, hope he spends his time away growing a pair, that is all.
How did you work that one out then?
No, I offered the olive branch, and got blanked, I haven't got any interest in nurse maiding him.
I didn't reply to your text Steve, because I'd been on a pasma course all day, returned to work until 8pm, went shopping, had dinner, a shower and went to bed. Although TBH, I'm glad I didn't as it's pretty obvious from this thread that it was just more of your crap that I've not had to read for the last month or so.
What happened was this thread: http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?58645-3-years-ago-yesterday&highlight=skyline Just saying it was my 3rd year anniversary on the forum, what happened next was some jealous bloke, who, having owned crap cars himself (well actually they were his wife's) decided to put a downer on our cars.
Jealous of what? a car you managed to crash (that I didn't rate at all) or your other sheds?
Not surprised he can't be arsed with this place anymore.
Nail on the head there mike. Coupled with health problems, fitting a kitchen, working 60 odd hours a week and generally feeling pretty crap, the repetitive tedium of the forums (not just this one but mainly this one) and Steve's need to intentionally misinterpret my posts for the sake of fueling some argument that only existed in his mind (just add alcohol...) prompted me to exorcise my right to not read what I don't like. I chose not to start a thread telling everybody I was leaving, blaming this and that blah blah, as I consider it pretty pathetic tbh, so I removed my avatar and sig pic and logged out. I pop in from time to time to answer PMs but that's it. I have much more pressing things to think about than crap like this. If anybody needs me, track me down on facebook - Martin R. Peachey, or ask one of the southerners for my number.
:(...

I think it is a real shame to lose a major contributor for the sake of a misunderstanding

Wasn't there a forum member of the year award just recently? sure it was you. There's always going to be differences of opinion - if it's constructive, take it on board. If it's just for taking the piss, ££££££££ to them. You answer to no-one. Going off on a tangent (about time too), why is it that women think that their menfolk would like to go shopping after work. I've got absolutely no interest is heading out to the supermarket or whatever immediately after finishing a shift
Stribo's only bored as he doesn't seem to have Frankie to play with these days.......:funkybana Seriously though, it's sad to hear a few things can lose a forum a good contributor, hope your back soon Martin

Personally I'd rather M-R-P pull my man-hairs out with his teeth (staying on topic lol)

If its for other reasons no time etc then fair enough but to leave over a argument seems a real shame and just not needed you have many friends on here that use this place. Other than that is this how southerners work it out up here we just hit each normally with what ever is closest and then go for a pint afterwards
Annemarie loves a trip round Tesco after work, says it helps unwind ! Now I need to go and drink lots of alcohol to cope with the thoughts of Graham & Martin going at it Oliver Reed/Alan Bates style.... I've never entered a Tesco and thought 'how relaxing'...aprt from when you go a 3 in the morning & you can meet all of workers who are not safe to work during the day
I only come on here these days to post Meets.....I find most people are nicer face to face than on the forum tbh :saythat:
I only come on here these days to post Meets.....I find most people are nicer face to face than on the forum tbh :saythat:
The problem with forum's is people make assumptions of what they have just read and how to take it where as face to face you Know what your getting. I've always said it them who make assumptions are normally wrong Oh and reply to my face book offer I may start assuming things lol
Oh and reply to my face book offer I may start assuming things lol
Cheapskate ;)
ive met a few peeps from the forum, and tbh they have all been superb peeps :)
Exactly....everyone I've met at the meets are absolutely spot on and couldn't be nicer folk - internet personas & real life are often totally different. Like Pete said earlier, I think a lot to do with it is how we read & interpret each others posts.
Your S60 is looking totally superb btw ;)

MRP is the reason I'm driving a volvo. Gave me some great advice and pointed me in the direction of a great C70 for sale. Shame he's not on here at moment. Used to enjoy his banter. Although recently there seems to be lots of arguing in a lot of the threads. I asked a question the other day about hids. And it turned In to a load of arguing between a few members of the forum.
No, he no longer owns a Volvo. :P
Neither do I, but still pop In most days. But to be honest the forum is rather quiet now and boring since Martin has moved on. I better txt him to see whats going on?

I'm banned from Pistonheads.... I posted a Trackday meet which upset their policy.. I won't got there..
