Ok, so my insurance is bleeding me dry at the moment. I have a sort of fleet insurance with a company called Clegg Gifford, a Lloyds broker. I've had it with them for a few years now, and when I first set it up was very competitive. Since then though, Mrs Sideways has passed her test (about 18 months ago) and it has kept creeping up and up. At the moment, the cars that I'll be wanting to insure are: '98 R - S70 T5 auto, TME remap, full 3" stainless exhaust inc. cat, 18" Peg reps. '95 N - 850 TDi, bog standard work bus apart from a set of rough Thors. '93 K - 460 CD Turbo auto, remapped ecu, Mrs Sideways' daily and pretty much the only one she needs to be insured on. At the moment they're all on the fleet policy and it's crept up to £170 per month, with them all declared standard (naughty, I know) and kept on a drive. Both with clean licences. A lot of money with a newborn stealing all my money! So, has anyone any ideas on where I'm best to start looking? Cheers.

Try a multicar policy with footman james with the misses as a named driver unless she wants to get her own no claims

Ok, so it looks like I'll give Footman James a try. Is there anyone in particular I should ask to speak to?

Rang them. Won't quote on a classic policy unless all cars are over 20yo. Helpful Edit: Just rang the number for regular insurance to be told that they only insure younger vehicles if you have an existing classic policy with them. ££££££££s

Adrian Flux came out at £1250.00, which works out at £137 per month. Better, but still can't really afford it. I'll give Chris Knott a ring tomorrow, but at the moment I'm seriously looking at giving up driving, apart from the work's van but that is strictly not for personal use.

Hi, Thanks for giving us a try for insurance. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to take another look at your details to see if there is any way I can shave anything off the premium. Regards, Dan.

Aye, it's a neccessary evil. Oh well, I've PM'd Dan above, so we'll see. Love to know how Jimbob managed to get all his insured for that, especially with all his mods declared!

Don't even get me started on insurance. I phoned to make an enquiry about a personal injury insurance that I'd been scammed with through my insurance (rac) & quite honestly told them I'd lost my job. Boom policy cancelled, new policy started due to change of career. £16 a month dearer! Just what I need when my car is sorn anyway. They will bleed you if you let them. Sorry for the rant. Lol

Footman James wouldn't cover me either on classic so I went with Adrian flux.

Footman's covered all 5 of mine for £483 two drivers and 1 modern, did you tell them your a voc member ?? might make some difference.

Been arguing with various insurance companies today. Turns out that my current NCB is unusable anywhere else as it applies to the drivers rather than a particular vehicle. So long story short, it would cost me vastly more to move from where I am. Just bull££££ all this. Really pissing me off now!
