I have a 1998 V70R and mines mapped. There's loads of tuners out there that will tune it for you, if the one you've just asked wont (or cant) then look around. Oh and Pics please, we like pics.. (Not all of us can read.. :) )

Every car can be remapped as long as it has an ECU. Whoever told you this is a complete numnut.

Thanks for replying Abdul and all! Just tried a couple of other places and they also said it couldn't... Do you have a contact for someone who can remap it, ideally in South Wales...? Or anyone for that matter?

Just popped out and took a few on the road! They're not the best but she's in good nick, wheels just refurbed etc and K and N filter fitted. Small difference on pick up but minimal.

Pictures keep failing to upload... They're from an iPhone?

Try uploading them to an image hosting site first like Photobucket (or similar) then just copy and paste the link.

I got a TME map on my S70 T5, that was pretty good. The guy below might able to help with an MTE map, which is about the same I think (no I'm not dyslexic :)) http://kalmar-union.com/contacts/ but really you need to do your own research and make your own choice. Before any mapping stage '0' is a good idea also

Maps are a bit of a personal thing really, people have tried to recommend various tuners in the past and it's just ended in ugly fights and arguing. Best to try out before you buy if possible.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm not mechanically minded at all so perhaps I'll just have to make do with my K and N and 240bhp! Any other advice really welcome.
Stage '0'?
Basically giving the car a FULL service to ensure a healthy starting point to avoid the potential of something bad happening due to over stressing stuff.

Mines mapped & it pretends it's a v70r. Mines a different animal compared to my unmapped R with a bigger turbo.

Bit late in the day perhaps, but I have an ECU for sale with a MTE map on it from my v70 R AWD auto '98 model, any good, plug and play
i can highly recommend Tim Williams for mapping these cars, if yours is manual and fwd i may be persuaded to sell my Rica map
^agree with this completely. Tim mapped my manual with an 18t turbo, it drives very well now. He does need an unmolested ECU to work with though.

Need a remap for my 1998 V70R (Auto) now. Thought about the RICA route or if someone has a RICA map on an ECU that will fit straight on, no messing about.
