My ABS light comes on after about 300 yards and stays on. Does anyone know if the power wire from the module to the pump is a known issue, other wise its module out for repair.
I have checked that i have power to the ABS.
1999 V40.
Many thanks for looking

Have you checked your abs rings aint shagged first?

ABS ring, ABS sensor and finally ABS pump. Have yo uhad your codes read? Ring should be no more than a fiver to get, sensor a tenner and £20-25 max for the ABS pump, so whichever is the culprit, it won't be a very expensive fix

Most likely a ring or sensor I'd go with. Check rings aren't cracked. Pop a resistance test on for the sensors :)

Did a resistance test to check that sensors are ok and they are all good. Did the wheel spein test to check for an out put from each wheel and i got an output from each wheel so not the rings and i have the 2 supplies to the module on the abs. So looks like it is a fault with the module on the side of the abs pump. Repair or replace ??

As I said on VOC - Replace. Silverlake has a used one in their yard near you. It's only £20 if you take your old one to them at the same time.

Better off getting another 2nd hand one. Siamblue has a spare one. Can ask him what he wants for it

Speaking to a mechanic fried last night, who says that when the control moduke goes you should replace the whole unit, pump and all as the connection to the pump can be suspect as well. So looks like i will need the whole unit not just the control module. He also siad that bleed after wards can be a real pain to get all the air out. Oh joy. Looks like i will be having some fun.

Got a second hand ABS unit and changed it tonight. 2 hours from start to back on the ground and all bled.
Now have ABS abd speedo. Thank god as 105 mile a day round trip using speedo on phone. Not at all scary.
Had to slap the anchors on the way home tonight on M3 and the old bum cheeks had a firm grip of the seat and i was being watched over. How did we ever cope before ABS.
