Hi im looking for an auto for the wife to drive the kids about in and I'm coming across lots of AWD models, I ideally want a 7 seater too.
I take it the AWD ones drink a bit moe fuel apart from that what should a be aware of? Diff oil changes, are the rear diff's/ props problematic?
Any advice is welcome we only do about 5k a year so a T5 isn't out the equation. Looking to spend up to £1500 as I want a clean one with less than 150k on the clock
Many thanks Ed

I'd look at T5's and TDi's personally. With your budget i'd look at a well cared for T5 and use the rest of the money for thorough servicing.

Yup, I agree.
You'd get a good T5 for that money, but don't discount the TDi.
I've got one of each and the TDi is no slouch, and with a simple tuning box will keep with a standard T5 with ease, still at double the economy ;)
Afraid I don't know enough about the AWD, but the general consensus tends to be that they're slower than a FWD, so not really worth the trouble.
Think they have a traditional viscous centre diff, when that fails people tend to take the prop off.
