I take it you have already tried caning it up and down the motorway in the wee small hours of the morning ? If I take mine up to ridiculous mph , it gets a bit stinky for a minute or two as all the accumulated crap gets burnt from the turbo and the downpipe. Italian tuneup , turbos seem to like it.

Thats your problem right there then mate, nip out and cane its ass , burns all the crap out of the turbocharger , and the down pipe. When I was a young pup I had an MG metro turbo, and it stopped boosting properly for about a week , I Redlined it from Paisley to Greenock and back at about three in the morning, Suddenly , the boost gauge lit right up, once I had scraped myself off the back screen, it was boosting perfectly . Good quality synthetic oil changed regularly and fairly frequent kickings keep it all running cleanly, mine is now on 187 k and it kicks like a mule, the turbo has never missed a beat.

All you really need to do is drive it in 3rd gear at about 50mph for a few hundered yards, if you don't like the idea of driving too fast.
