Running a car transporter?

Might be buying a mates Transit and taking on local work from a couple of mates who have garages. What will I need with regards to load insurance, liability etc. ? All but give up on the man and van business, as there are so many people doing it now. That and I fancy tarting the Trafic up a bit :D
