Chaps - Someone has offered me a 98' V70R AWD in gay gold. It's a manual without an MOT and has stood for a number of years (4+). Fun project or a waste of time? Haggling on price but £500-700 is where I see it ... thoughts?

Apparently 15 left last time I checked on some website, although that includes mine which is currently off the road due to water pump seizure.....

Went and saw it in the flesh today. It's def been sitting for 4+ years and has enough moss and cobwebs etc... I wouldn't call it a barn find but its never been washed. Its not an AWD its a FWD model which I dunno if that's better or worse based on condition and 4wd dramas. Just quickly looking over it, it needed a good 2k spending on it. I'm thinking it and over and will make a decision when i've costed up all the parts. Thanks thus far.

I wouldn't say it was an instant money maker but once sorted would be a very nice and rare car. Being the FWD model in my opinion is better as there is quite a lot of people that have had problems with their AWD system and removed the prop anyway.

still at that money and fwd (less issues than awd) a good buy in my book and most probably worth saving, getting fewer and further between these days and I think most on here will say that they were possibly the best of the R's ( I may not agree as mine is a phase3 awd) good luck with the purchase
