have put 18" pegs on my t5r and cant decide wether i like the or not.....from certain angles the look wrong and out of place on it other glances they look great and its putting my head away lol..........they are running 225 40s and im thinking 35s might help how they look. the front of my car isnt sitting low enough either this not helping have considerd changing back to 17s and going pro race 1.2 its really bugging me

If it's any help I have loads of my old 850's wearing 18's?

Post 774453 by t5 pete on 2015-05-28 22:39:24

18's look great on a low 850 but are so impractical rubbing on full lock hitting arch and silly low profile tyres give a horrible ride I was going to get some pegs for the gull which would look great but stood with 17's because of the above reasons

Post 774454 by Ettienne on 2015-05-28 22:45:55

This is the reason I built my 4 pots brakes front and rear to fit under titans or Volans. But 18 x 7.5j iirc don't rub, especially if 215/40/18 are used.

Never had any issues with the 18" Tritons on Blacky

Pro Race 1.2 look fantastic on an 850!!.......and my S40 lol

Post 774548 by Redbrick on 2015-05-29 21:45:52

I ran 18'' genuine Pegs on my old red 855R, tyres were 215/35 18 and the ride was terrible. 17's look far more in proportion in my opinion... but understand I still get rubbing with 235/40 17 RS-R's on these 8J ProRace 1.2's. I just grin and bear it! Image

Mine on 18s lasted approx 60 miles, rubbed like hell (it is quite low) and didn't quite look right. But that my opinion and I know nothing Standard 17s work much better.

Post 774553 by p fandango on 2015-05-29 22:15:42

i had BT on several different sets of 18's over the years, always ran 215/35/18 tyres so they didn't rub Image

Post 774589 by jdavis on 2015-05-30 17:09:20

215 35 18 tyres and you shouldn't have any problems rubbing wise. The ride will be harsh though. I think they suit them. I need to lower mine but I like the 18s on it now.

Post 774591 by Nealevo on 2015-05-30 17:11:26

Just to add my tyres were a little wide at 225/40/18 so that prob didn't help matters

I didn't have issues with the laser on 18s 225/40/18s

Post 774806 by t5 pete on 2015-06-01 20:55:26

On the v70r I had 18x8 and 225 it rubbed horribly with the white lock stops fitted

Post 774855 by AshDVS on 2015-06-02 13:01:11

I think 18" wheels look a bit oversized though you can get away with it if they're 18" Pegs with a very low profile tyre and the car is super low. 17" wheels look pretty good. Not quite an 850, but you get the idea (17" wheels are the right size for the car, IMO) - Image

Post 774882 by Redbrick on 2015-06-02 18:47:00

How can you seriously say they don't look too big? Not knocking your ride or your look but they aren't in proportion.

Post 774884 by Redbrick on 2015-06-02 18:50:55
the red R on coils redbrick?
Yup. The first set of 850 KW V2's in the UK, was a horrible harsh bouncy ride. Now the Fiddy is on the same suspension (different kit) and set at the correct ride height it rides very well. Coilovers are great for going low but that isn't the best for ride quality or handling.

cant decide to but 35s or go 17s think 35s will hurt the resale of the pegs and the more i look at them 17 td pro race are looking hot......on the team dynamics will i need 8j to clear porsche calipers? or will 7.5 suffice?
How can you seriously say they don't look too big? Not knocking your ride or your look but they aren't in proportion.
The funny thing is ,when your stood in front of it they don't look big. It seems to be in photos the polished bit is all you see so they seem bigger. I wanted to go 19" centre lockers but didn't have time to sort them before we took the car to Austria.

My gul is lowered and running 215/45/17, I get no rubbing what so ever, with the 320s they act as a 3mm ish wheel spacer.

If youd like to know more just pm your email address and we'll have a chat about it. Does anyone know of another on air?

My 850 AWD with 18" reps on. Standard AWD ride height but the front is probably a little high as I'd just dropped the jack after fitted them. They look a little small from that angle and with that ride height. Image

Post 775034 by sye73 on 2015-06-04 21:02:56

Visually, 18's work well for me on 850s. It all depends on if you are willing / able to put up with the ride ( the ONLY tyres I have found to work on an 8 inch rim are 215 35 18 ). 225 35 rub and 225 40 are to tall. Just depends on what youre willing to compromise ..
