First time on this site though.
Ive had a 480 turbo which I eventually turned into a Renault 5, but this time ive got myself an 850 with some lovely electrical gremlins, so ill be in the 850 help section most of the time.
I already recognise a few names on this forum from others aswell.
Cheers
Mark

Hello there mate, nice to see you over here. If you remember I made a trip down to you to get some bits including lowering springs. You work on the 5 was very impressive. Do you still have it? Did you have some kind of Nissan Z-car also?

Hello and welcome, some pictures of the R5 with Volvo parts would be nice!

As you can see I like yellow lights.

Some interesting cars there! What was the R5 spec? Did you use it for drag or track?

Boo! :( lol
I'm a 480 lover like Jamesy, have come across your posts while googling further power upgrades for the B18FT.
We've lost too many to the Renault boys. Jamesy tried to redress the balance though by shoehorning a 5GTT C1J into his 480. Pmsl!
Welcome along to the mad house anyway :)

Haha, theres a reason theyre taking B18fts over C1js. I had that 480 for a good year and a bit, it had terminal bum rot though.
The R5 just had the B18ft with the standard T2 turbo, but it was on the original campus gearbox, so top end was massively reduced for quick acceleration. It was just for street use, never had it on a track, I almost got it on santa pod to see what it could do, but the queue was massive.
Thanks for the welcome guys

I'm getting there very slowly.
Also have a Clio 1.2 RN shell with C1J engine inside :)

Will the turbo sit in there nicely? Surely its going to hit the abs?
Also, Ive got some 480 bits left over if you guys want them for free. Ive even got a 480 gearbox jamesy

Very correct mate - that is why the C1J didn't go in, clattering the ABS gubbins. Here is a shot of the Clio bay with the 5GT engine as you know the exhaust manifold & turbo sit far over to the passenger side.
If you have a box Mark I would be interested in it for a manual conversion at some point.

Haha, I cant just throw them away, theyre rare parts.
That looks neat. Im surprised no one made engine mounts that you could buy for each conversion, Its so simple. Id still like a clio one day.
Its been sat outside for a few years but it might be good to you even if for a space model.

No honestly it'll be going in the bin when we have a clear out, I cant accept money for it now. Just call it compensation for leaving you with my dad haha.
Ill keep an eye out for the clio. Im not done with small French boxes yet.
