Hi,
My current job is working as an Administrator for a recruitment solutions company (not actual recruitment) and I've been itching to get back into the motor trade for some time now as I studied mechanics at college and am fully qualified. I have had part time work at a garage when studying but they all needed someone with more experience so to cut a long story short I have no actually garage experience but instead drive way experience, which I have learned way more from to be honest like most on here.
I originally applied for a technician role at Volvo but after reviewing my CV they decided against that for again no garage experience but instead put me more up front as a service adviser given my past experience, love for Volvo's and knowledge of cars. Which they then would put me through the technician training and eventually become a master tech at Volvo. I understand that they aint what they used to be but at least I have a love for the badge at least.
So I've hopefully got an interview lined up with them next week.

Thanks for the positive messages, I really appreciate it.
Looks like I will be taking the R, which I how sparks a conversation with the manager.
I called them up as a customer asking for some parts and they were really polite and helpful which is a good sign.

Yeah the manager really liked my R, first thing he did was come out and look at it before we even started the interview! It's a good first impression I think
