Morning chaps,
this may not be model specific so posted here.
I've fitted a set of HID's to my '04 c70 jewel headlights but as expected - they're far too bright and the beam will annoy fellow road users (I don't need any additional attention tbh in the gay gold).
has anyone fitted aftermarket projects in the volvo casings before? I saw a thread on swedespeed where its been done but the photobucket pictures have since been removed.
what experience do people have of this? I know you have to cut the housing..... any names of people/places that would do this would be awesome. ta

Someone on VolvoSpeed retro fitted projectors into 960 headlights a while back Jim, he ground the flutes out of the headlight glass so that the light pattern would be ok.

I cant believe you sacrificed a set of jewel head lights when you could of sold them & bought aftermarkets.

depends biff... when they look this good! the aftermarket projectors don't look half as nice.

They do look well but I would of been tempted to use an old head light with a plastic lens.
are you spraying the chrome yourself mate?
I'm a big fan of the crystal headlights on the p1's.

I started to retrofit some projectors to my 850 headlights. Unfortunately I couldn't deflute the lenses properly and the project is shelved at the moment but I have found a supplier for the clear headlight lenses now and will be completed once the 850 has its new engine in :)
Shouldn't be a problem for you as you already have the clear lenses. You could get a set of old x70 lights and butcher them instead and sell on the jewel ones. You can get the clear lenses from Partforvolvos AFAIK.
