Have been trying to get here for a while emails not my strong point on my forth and best volvo now. Have had it for about four years and it just keeps geting better rolling coal and sounds like nothing else dave DONT KNOW IF ANYONE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM BUT IVE HAD IT A FEW TIMES NOW CAR STARTS IN THE MORNING EVERYTIME PERFECT DRIVES GREAT ,IF YOU SWITCH IT OFF FOR A COUPLE OF MINUITES IT WONT RESTART IT JUST CRANKS OVER AS IF IST OUT OF FUEL ..WAIT ABOUT TEN TWENTY MINS AND IT STARTS FINE IS IT AN IMOBILLISER FAULT OR DODGY FUEL FILTER HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP THANKS PS WILL POST SOME PHOTOS ONCE IVE WORKED OUT HOW

Hot start problem? Do you know if the plugs are wet after cranking & no start? Could be coolant temperature sensor
I mention that because there was a recent thread on a cold start problem (opposite to what you have)

In your case if it is the coolant temp sensor, then you can try disconnecting the sensor's multiplug when warm & see if the car fires

If you've got an 850/P1 V70 like i have, my thoughts were "Battery, Immobiliser, dizzy, leads, plugs, engine management etc" as a last resort i'd suggest pulling the fuel pump and giving it a digital test with a volt meter or an analogue test with a hammer - its what diagnosed my "cranks but wont fire issue".
