Woke up this morning to find my dog had knocked my glass over in the night & my phone now has water behind the touch screen but works as it should.
I've had it in a bag with loads of silica gel sachets all day at 40 degrees hoping it would dry out. Nothing yet.
Next plan is to leave it in my airing cupboard for a few days but just wondered if anyone else had any suggestion's?

A search on the net says stick it in one of those sandwich bags you can seal, with some dry rice?

That worked for one of my colleagues who dropped her's down the toilet.....................:)

Yeah - in a bag with a load of rice or cilica. If there's any covers you can remove, take them off too
Best to leave it powered off while it's drying too, you don't want that water making its way elsewhere and finding voltage.

One cat might be OK, but when you have many like us, I'd swap them for another dog........

First of all I am not a cat person! I couldn't walk the miles I do with a moggy.
To be fair to my dog her usual sleeping space was shortened by her mother nesting & rearranging the house when it doesn't need moving.
The dog lies in her bed at the side of me & usually spreads out paws everywhere dreaming of the beach. Last night she took a dip I think. Soaked.
I'm barking up the right tree with it bagged with silica.
Fingers crossed it will live. I recently passed on an upgrade to an iPhone 6 as I don't like the dimensions of them. I gave up my insurance as I have never claimed & 3 weeks later this happens!

ah the age old cat vs dog debate,
now im not saying all people that prefer dogs to cats are asswholes but im a cat person, my mrs is a dog person, we have two rottweillers and i know shes an asswholes
the problem is humans attach human emotions to dogs 'my dog loves me, she loves to greet me when i get home' no, the dog has had nothin else going on all day an see's you, the food giver, appear... and she certainly doesnt love you shes a dog and has no concept of emotions.... 'yeah she does, she hates the postman' no, she sees the postman as a predator that may try to remove her from her position in the 'pack' of which she is used to gettin a free ride.... and plus i dont like the postman either :lol:
i have the debate regularly

Dogs are a PITA, thick as pig ££££, honestly think that every time you walk out the door, you're never coming back, have to be walked and when you do, they look at you proudly as you pick up their crap.
They crave constant attention though, so people think they're their friends.
Cats are d1cks with bad attitides, think they're better than you, only want to know you when they're hungry and couldn't care less if you live or die.
They do walk themselves though.
Yours, Prof. D. I. Sideways.

 I like either tbh but most dogs are hard work to look after well compared to cats. Favourite pet I had was a ferret

I like cats....especially the dead ones at the side of the road. Sorry.....but true

My dog is more intelligent than most people I know (mrs included).
I totally disagree that she doesn't love me, her mum had her as a pup & when I arrived on the scene as the alpha male she became so loyal with me straight away. She certainly doesn't enjoy me picking her poo up as she tries her hardest to do do it in hedges where I cant get to. She refuses to crap in her own garden.
The dog has helped me through the hardest of times, she senses when something is wrong, understands what I say & is a great companion. I can walk her anywhere without a lead & she certainly isn't driven by her stomach.
A cat does what? Rubs itself up on you, comes & go's as it pleases, sprays a shot of piss at you so other cats know your its possession & then moves in with another family as it feel like it.
I will argue all day. I wouldn't see any harm come to any animal but I make sure my dog hates them with a passion so they don't crap all over my garden.
I had a house rabbit when I lived on my own, he thought he was a dog but I missed the long walks. ;)

Can't understand that tbh. Each to their own I guess

this^^
I give & have helped out with animal charities - rehoming dogs/cats/whatever I don't mind which. A much better cause IMHO than sending cash to Africa, just to pick an example out of the air!!
Have we gone far enough off topic yet..?
Post 789573 by Biff on 2015-10-29 16:23:54
Charity starts at home for me mate!
I never give to foreign countries as you don't know whose hands it will end up in.
I'm sure it can go off a bit more...
If anyone else fancies a rant go for it...
Just don't get me started on Muslim Asylum seekers after a guy who lives in the next village has just been prosecuted for terrorism & a £160k invoice for arms on his phone. Wtf is going on?

your right there, like buggery am i going to pay 5p a bag for it to go to charity, if they want to reduce the carbon footprint of plastic bags theyd be better off saying the money goes towards buying peados in prison a new widescreen tv :mad111:
i love cats for coming and going as they please it'd be a much better life to be reincarnated into than a dogs, dogs are like kids that will never grow up and move out eventually :uglyhamme

I had a very smart cat and dog and tbh its hard to choose tho I felt like my dog like Biff said could sense my mood etc. like no one else and never had to put a lead on as it was obeying commands. It was a German shepherd.I could say a different thing for the same command and it would understand it.After Tarzan I never had any dogs as I don`t think I`d be lucky to have the same smart one again and didn`t want to get disappointed myself and ruin a dogs life by not treating it like did Tarzan.

Tarzan. lol Good name KG!
We are exactly the same, I've had 6 dogs throughout my life with Grandparents dogs etc & none have come close to Bonnies intelligence or personality.
We go walking with my mates & their dogs often, I only have to mention "dogging" & she is sat by her cupboard for her lead. The way shes adapted to Oli I cannot fault her, he's pulled chunks out of her with only the odd yelp.
Craig your right mate, Bon will always be our baby & she knows it.
She is still the first one to get a fuss when I come through the door & always will be. lol

Was still wet behind the screen when I turned it on last night. Think it may take a while. :(
In the mean time I have no phone at all as the sim is a micro sim & my spare nokia which was made before Christ takes a normal sim. Not good when mrs biff is 10 weeks from due date!

Biffers, I have a set of adapters to make small SIMs into the next size up. Worth a try perhaps? Feel free to nip up to mine and borrow the size you need.

Hi nick. Thanks for the offer. I'm currently borrowing a mates spare sim so I can contact & be contacted. I've ordered some tools online so I can split my phone. I don't actually think it's water but evaporated black current juice. If I can split it I will give it a clean.
