I'm after some tyres for my T5, and am wondering what size I can use (apart from the obvious normal size). Wondering if I can get away with 55's or would they rub? Also would 195 be ok? Just wondering as I'm after a winter set and checking out fleabay etc for a part worn set as I'm a tight northerner. Obviously, I would have to make sure the load rating is high enough.. Any thoughts? Can't remember the name of the alloys off hand (later version of Columbas which came out on the V70)

You could fit 195/55/16s, but they're a bit skinny IMO.

Just to give my 2p's worth, i'm currently running on 225/55/R17's, so if mine don't rub, i'm sure yours won't :) Just get the bump stops changed.

I ran that very car on 205/55/16 winter tyres on steel wheels. They did rub on full lock but it wasn't a big deal. The car performed very very well in the severe winter we had a few years back. I still have the wheels & tyres here......

I run 205/55/16. They rub a tiny amount on full lock but nothing loathsome. Interestingly they are ususally cheaper than 205/50/16 as the 55 profile si what all new polos, ibizas, fabias etc run as standard.
