Car started up with a Engine Systen Service Required message after work on Friday.
Limped it home and called Volvo Assist. The car was recovered to the main dealer on Saturday and a nice shiny i40 touring was delivered in the afternoon.
There was me expecting it to be the MAF again but spoke with the dealer this afternoon and the EGR valve is totally coked up. New updated parts are on their way....
Updated parts to fit to a late 63 plate motor with 33K on the clock? You have to ask wtf is going on.
Rant over

It's coked up because you drive it like a girl :)

Must be the colour that make people drive like girls then.
How's the lpg doing cheap skate?
Ps there would be smies and tongue pokes but I can't do them on the phone.

Lpg is still going well, it's that dodgy remap, you should of brought an eBay tuning box

Might be right there, but at least with the dodgy remap the warranty covers it.

That's a real bummer Steve. Must be a faulty part from New surely?
First question though is why are Volvo giving you a Hyundai i40??

Not sure on faulty from new but I will ask some questions when I get the car back.
The i40 was supplied by Enterprise rent a car on behalf of Volvo Assist rather than being supplied by the dealer. I requested a "large" estate to get the dogs in. The i40 is what turned up.

I don't think it was a faulty part I think it's the new diesel problems .they are having problems with the xc60 too with egr and a cooler that is used with the egr too .voc has owners with same problems with egr .something to do with euro 6 and the egr being used 70 percent more and other stuff .worth a read and I won't be buying a diesel from dpf probs etc etc .thats why they are saying make sure you get a warranty with new diesels .

Are all xc60s euro 6 or are the first ones euro 5?
Post 791063 by Blackdog on 2015-11-17 19:10:23
OK so I have the D5 back.
New updated EGR fitted.
With the new updated part they now do not have to replace the cooler as well.
£323 +VAT for the part and 1-1/2 hours labour all billed to Volvo.

You'd be surprised how many diesel Volvo's we get in for warranty issues such as the EGR and cooler, luckily you do not have to pay for it as they are not cheap!
Volvo's are not what they used to be.
