Just got to map it now, if the v70r has more miles on the same box with more torque and bhp I'm sure the xc90 box will be ok. Polestar map or does anyone do a different map (not a rica)
Lovely looking XC90 that mate I must admit I would love one, maybe one day
Welcome to the XC90 owners club. :D
Are you on some illegal high, I wouldn't let him touch it lol Do mte map d5?
I don't know, Don would be the man to ask.
Are you on some illegal high, I wouldn't let him touch it lol Do mte map d5?
Absolutely! Don's XC90 D5 is running MTE software and is quite good, I'm told.
He's got a few offers on at the minute too :)
If you were looking inside, how would you tell the difference to the 6spd autos? I've looked at a couple of s60/v70 t5s, between the years 04 and 06 and they were all 5spd autos.
2005 onwards 6sp, if it's got a dipstick it's 5sp
2005 onwards 6sp, if it's got a dipstick it's 5sp
I've seen two 55 plate cars that were 5spd. Registered in 2005, but manufactured in 2004. How do you check the fluid if they don't have a dipstick?
You drain it, on the sump (same as my p2.5r) and inspect and it has a fill level on a tube, just like the way Edd China did on the boxster gearbox, only you fill the Volvo from the top. It's important as the tf80sc box doesn't have a filter, but same box in the polestar, so quite tough

I love it how they like to make cars harder to work on, the newer they get. I remember trying to find the oil dipstick on the newer twin tubo diesels.............
Totally uncheckable when viewing you have to go by how it drives and then change the fluid yourself when you own it.
Well after your blast in Sweden in the Polestar XC90 D5 id say if you were happy with that map then go with it. If not give the MTE a try. Im sure MTE is probably more competitively priced too. Oh and nice bus by the way :)
