Good to hear that Monkey is up where he should be and Sabine makes it two serious peddlers amongst the presenters...... Don.

I think it's going to end up being like fifth gear :(
It's interesting they've gone for 'drivers' rather than 'entertainers', personally I hated all the mocked up races and challenges on TG, it annoyed me they wrecked decent cars in the name of TV - Not too sure it's the right decision for the longevity of the show though, as non petrolheads (who far outnumber us lot) bought into the programme for that so called entertainment...
I think it's going to end up being like fifth gear :(
I fear you may be right
There is nothing wrong with fifth gear but they were definitely two different shows fifth gear was more for the serious petrol head while top gear for the people who like a good laugh I enjoy both but if tiff tells me it's a good car I believe him as for top gear well the advice didn't help me
David Coultard's also been signed up. Ironically Suzi Perry ruled herself out of the running "as she's too busy with F1", looks like they let David in on the Channel 4 move lol
If they get rid of Evans quick style it might be watchable. Otherwise no chance
If they get rid of Evans quick style it might be watchable. Otherwise no chance
Mr Evans has already pissed off a few of the back-stage staff (executive producer & the script editor have already quit), apparently he's being rather pushy. I'm not a fan of Chris Harris
They could now have a nice section with how fast a reasonably priced car can go round the Nurburgring. That's 1/4 hour used up ,could get very dull then start using super cars. I think Button & Coultard would work , the BBC bit with the beetle worked. :B_steerin
I think Button & Coultard would work , the BBC bit with the beetle worked. :B_steerin
Button's been spotted at Dunsfold filming for the new series, but with Chris Evans as passenger (no sign of Coulthard). The Stig was also there
It's doomed. Sabine is ok at the ring but she's no uk presenter.
I personally think TG has hit the skids now the trio have gone. But TG has morphed before and become successful...... Let's give it a chance eh? TT
I personally think TG has hit the skids now the trio have gone. But TG has morphed before and become successful...... Let's give it a chance eh?
it had hit the skids before they left, everything was too scripted & all the jokes just repeated from previous seasons. Hopefully the new format can put some life back into it, but it won't be the same
John bishop had it to a tee recently. It was successful because not that it was a serious car show but because it was three mates, with a ridiculous budget, hooning around, enjoying themselves doing everything most grown men can only dream of... Difficult to follow quite simply because the trio made the show, not the title. Remove any expectations of what top gear was or became no matter whether you were a fan or not and I'm sure it'll be a good line up to the Sunday tv guide.
It's doomed. Sabine is ok at the ring but she's no uk presenter.
I like Sabine and I think I will like her even more if they intend filming her ring.
I think Everyone should just sit down and shut up. Wait for the series to air before passing judgement. I've never watched Chris Harris, Sabine comes across as very serious (stereo-typically German) in previous appearances and Evans... well, we'll see. I don't mind him at all really. Anyway, Huzzah!!!!!
I'm looking forward to something different .yes top gear was really good before but Chris Evans is no idiot when it comes to cars or series and will make a good job of it .lets give the new series a chance I will watch it and reserve my comments offer a couple of shows .you can still watch the other tg on amizon too if you want to pay
it had hit the skids before they left, everything was too scripted & all the jokes just repeated from previous seasons. Hopefully the new format can put some life back into it, but it won't be the same
I'd got pretty bored of it before the final season, so i'd just watch it on i player and fast forward a lot. As you say, way to scripted, repeating old jokes and you could see the "accidents" coming a mile off. Saying that, i did think the last series was the best in a long time and i especially loved the bit about peugeot. Weirdly, i actually liked the 1st season of the US version. None of the three guys were that good at being presenters, but i enjoyed the challenges. Just 3 blokes having a laugh, but not trying too hard, like the older UK challenges.
