Looking to purchase some genuine Volvo pads for my R, obviously searching comes up with two different pads, mine has last 6 digits of vin less than 400,000 so it says I need a different set, from looking around online i have seen people say it's only a chamfered edge that's the difference, so I'm just wondering does anyone know what problems I'd have if I got the later set? Or is there anything that might have been done by previous owner to make the newer pads compatable, don't want to order the older style ones and find out something has been changed

As far as I'm aware, all P2R pads are the same.

Recently Volvo has changed the design of the rear s60r etc discs, but I thought the fronts were the same, in fact brembo pads are all very similar. So those of you using these on 850s may encounter problems.
Sorry off topic but how have rear S60R discs changed?
I was speaking with the chap selling my old laser Awd and he has told me that the handbrake drum is now changed and fowls, he bought new discs and had to skim the old ones. You'd have to try them but sounds like either the drum goes back to far and hits the back plate or the shoes go in too far and the drum can't accommodate. Have a chat with him it's forsale on gumtree, I don't know why they would alter it but just reporting what I have heard, fortunately I based my rears around the xc90 discs.
