I've replied a few times on your Facebook posts - welcome to vpc,
Having spent 5 years getting an old plodder back to its best (and beyond ;) ), I can see you've got an interesting project there.
It'll be worth it tho.

Cheers Mate, Its got 1 plug welded to the head before i bought it so assuming its somehow run lean on one cylinder or something along those lines.
I too am perform open heart surgery on my C70. Welcome
Ya im collecting my new heart saturday and then get a new cam belt, service kit etc. I keep getting told to shim it while its out but im not arsed stripping the engine that far and im not going to be pushin much over 350 if at all by the end of it.
hello & :welcome:
Cheers mate!
Looks mean, really mean....
Indeed it does, had to have it when i saw it, given it isnt sitting like that at the minute as i need some new front coilovers.

ya mate, im looking forward to having it back on the road hooning about.
Does anyone know where to get an MTE cable for the maps? Old owner had to keep his for his other car.
Also what flange is on the 2.3 T5 turbo Exhaust housing. Im going full straight pipe 3'' from the turbo and need to get a fresh stainless flange to start from.
Post 795735 by Lolvo T5 on 2016-01-28 13:47:08
3" angled flange.
not quite sure i get what you mean mate, would have thought it would be t3/4 etc type flange.
Can you get me a pic of what you mean?
Post 795736 by M-R-P on 2016-01-28 13:48:39
Ah, the exhaust housing is a TD04HL
Ah, the exhaust housing is a TD04HL
sweet, still not finding just one!haha
would you recognise which flange will bolt straight up to the exhaust housing on a t5 turrrrbit.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=td04+flange&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR1.TRC0.A0.H0.Xtd04+volvo+flange.TRS0&_nkw=td04+volvo+flange&_sacat=0
3Rd one down on your link mate.
Cheers dude! i must get one ordered up. When they talk about angled flanges an non on the t5 is it the housing angle that is referred to or is it a slight chamfer on the flange to create more room for the downpipe? Silly questions keep coming :D i bet your kicking yourself for ever replying in the first place haha
Post 795751 by M-R-P on 2016-01-28 17:07:03
The older models used to have the downpipe flange parallel to the rest of the turbo. Modern ones are angled downward (around 30 degrees iirc) to aid flow.

Welcome along :)
That looks insane, I love it!
Do the front wheels turn at all, or does it have some sort of castor system like an office chair for when you come to a corner?!

cool thought it would be a space/positioning/flow thing
Thanks again mate!!

Haha cheers dude, i cant take credit for the styling but i will be adding my own touches. i wouldnt be surprised if the owner was on here as Don was the one who did the mte map and the old owner was back to don for another map on his new t5. The arches are chopped away under the bolt ons and the PCD adapters are 25mm so looooads of room to turn them big £££££££ wheels!
Just have to get the engine out, make a pattern for the exhaust and then its going to be a big obnoxious 3'' straight pipe . . . the only thing i havent decided is whather to follow the route of the original exhaust or reduce it to shotgun centre exit 2.5" . . . decision decisions :D
welcome,love it :thewave::thewave:
Cheer mate, as above, cant take credit for it but ill at least keep it on the road and make it more cuntish :)

You'll struggle making a centre exit due to the floor pan in the boot.
You should be able to use the old downpipe as a pattern to build the replacement without much effort.

ya ive looked at that and it hangs quite low. if im going centre exit it will either be getting the grinder out or splitting the 3'' into a shotgun exit in 2-2.5" Fab work isnt going to be an issue but me being arsed is!haha! im going to put a v-band at the end of the straight regardless so i can get 2 tips made and change them easily. ive ££££loads of exhaust tubing and vbands around the place.
