I am Rob age 27 from North East UK and thought I would introduce my car with the background over the last 12 months and will add this into a project thread on the car......... Well I decided to be sensible around a year ago and get a nice big comfy barge as my daily driver. Plumped for a 2005 V70 (phase 2) with the 163 D5 engine. The car is an SE so quite happy with the spec as standard. Came with 150k on clock and was in decent condition: Image Image When I bought the car I new the belts didn't need doing but I like to ensure everything is done correctly so it went off to Volmech in Stockton and had the full service with belts, fluids and filters changed. Also had a slight whine on the alternator so that was replaced as well. The car came with a set of tyres which I didn't like and my trackday car had come with a set of Bridgestone RE002 tyres so these were swapped over and this was sorted for a small while. Now you need to know at this stage I don't like standard cars and like things doing properly so my daily started to get some minor adjustments....... First up I replaced all the discs, pads, shoes & rear calipers for new Pagid items. Then after exploiting the extra grip from the tyres decided I wanted some improved handling without sacrificing comfort so the following were sourced: - Eibach sportline springs - Sachs GT spec dampers all round - XC90 stronger front top mounts - Ultra racing front strut brace - Alignment tweaked to suit This along with a BMC panel filter kept me happy and the miles kept creeping up with no issues. After this I decided I wanted to tour Scotland on a 3000 mile road trip so drew up some more mods I wanted/needed: - Private plate - Heko wind deflectors - Tow bar removed - Rear tints - Stainless exhaust - V70R rear valance - Volvo rear spoiler with brake light Everything on the list is here bar the spoiler which still needs painting...... Image Exhaust has 1 cat removed and rear silencer, reused the original middle silencer as was in perfect condition and everything after that is stainless. Image Cleaned out the mixer pipework as well as didn't know if it had ever been done - Urgh! Painted the front grill insert black then off we went on the road trip and all was going well and 600 miles into my summer road trip an lovely old man decided to change his mind on a junction and pull back out and straight my way so I caught him. Shame the only witness drove off without checking we were all ok :( Luckily Volvo's are stronger than BMW's so his was off the road and mine had the numberplate missing and some minor scratches..... Image Still planning a new front end but with a twist so didn't bother getting it sorted or claiming for it. Luckily managed to continue my roadtrip..... Image Image Image A week after getting back I went for a mini trip round the Lakes and Yorkshire for my Dads 60th Birthday..... Yes the Impreza here is my Parents and the Clio sport is my brothers and had a lot of fun, still kept in front for the majority where bottle was required. An airborn V70 is quite fun..... Image Winter then came so sourced a set of cheap 16" alloys with a set of Vredestein winter tyres and plastidipped these so don't have to keep cleaning them haha: Image Got a new set of Bridgestone RE002 tyres to go back on the original wheels when the weather improves and though all was good until last week..... Oil & filter change and noticed an unwelcome bulge..... Image So obvious answer was - do88 intercooler so can wind the boost up now with a map: Image For those who want to know what the exhaust sounds like, here you are...... Image Image Sorry for the long introduction but like to do things properly haha

Nice intro. The oil burners are certainly becoming more popular these days and that's a fine example with some choice mods. Welcome along.

Welcome along :) There's a few members from the NE now. Jamesy will be along shortly to give you the formal welcome in your native tongue, like. Nice D5 BTW, sounds good too. People are surprised how well my old 850 TDi goes and sounds at full chat (5cyl VW AEL engine)
